NMU-CCC Joint Degree Admission Announcement
Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for 3 years Joint Bachelor
Degree Programme between North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon and Cayuga Community
College, Auburn, New York, USA. Last date for submitting the filled in application form to
the University is 5 th May, 2013.
1) Eligibility :
(a) Students who have appeared for the XIIth STD examination of Maharashtra State
Board of Higher Secondary Education, Central Board of Secondary Education
(CBSE) or Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) and who are hoping to
secure 70 % or more marks or its equivalent grades.
(b) Students whose parents have sound financial position to support study in USA.
2) Programmes Identified :
Following four subjects have been short listed for starting the Joint Bachelor Degree
Programme between the two institutions in Phase-I.
(a) B.Sc. (Microbiology).
(b) B.Sc. (Computer Science)
(c) B.Sc. (Chemistry)
(d) Bachelor of Business Administration
3) Models :
Model 1 = 2+1 [2 years at CCC (Associate Degree) +1 year at NMU (Bachelor
degree)].
Model 2 = 1+1+1 [1 year at NMU, 1 year at CCC (Associate Degree) and Final year
at NMU (Bachelor degree)].
4) Students’ Profile :
The CCC will waive the TOEFL requirement for the selected students from NMU.
However, students must demonstrate English proficiency via the admissions
placement test and required online chat sessions with the International Admissions
officer.
The NMU will proctor the admission tests on site at NMU. Students who do not pass
the minimum score for placement in the college English and Math classes will not be
eligible to proceed in the admissions process to CCC.
Students must be in a position to provide all required documents to obtain a student
F1 visa; this includes acceptance to the institution and the necessary financial
documents.
Students in each program must meet the required grade and G.P.A established by each
institution in order to transfer the completed classes to the receiving institution.

After admission to CCC, the students will be governed by the rules,
regulations/guidelines of the that institutions.
The curriculum guide sheets established for the joint degree programs will be used by
each institution to advise each student. Guide sheets will be reviewed and updated in
accordance with any program changes, periodically.
NMU will provide all necessary admission documents to CCC and CCC will provide
a final transcript of the students earned degree and course completions.
All requirements for graduation at CCC must be fulfilled in order to earn the
Associate’s Degree.
All requirements for graduation at NMU must be fulfilled in order to earn the
Bachelor’s Degree.
NMU and CCC will provide an update of each student’s progress at the end of each
semester. The intent to complete the program signed by students during the
admissions process will include his/her permission for such communication.
Students from NMU completing the joint admission degree program with either
Model I or Model II shall be given preference during the admission to Master’s
program run on campus.
Grade sheets approved for academic year 2013-14 are available on the website at
NMU-CCC link.
5) Steps :
a) Advertisement by the University in the month of April, 2013.
b) Admission Test in the month of April-May, 2013.
c) Paper work and necessary documents of short-listed students to be sent to
Cayuga Community College, Auburn for screening in the month of June,
2013.
d) Admission offer letter to the students in the month of July, 2013 (First or
second week).
e) Processing for students USA Visa during the months of July-August, 2013.
f) Pre-departure orientation for the students in 3 rd week of August, 2013.
g) Students departure for USA around 25 th of August, 2013.
h) Fall semester begins at the end of August, 2013.
6) Requirements : (a) Valid Passport, (b) Sound financial position, (c) Willingness to
adjust to different cultural environmental and culinary conditions, (d) Strong desire to
make a career in basic and applied sciences, (e) should be a student of NMU and (f)
Sign a bond indicating his/her desire to return India.

7) Fees :

Accommodation =
$8,276 for the 2013-14 academic year
The 2013-14 housing fee for Lattimore Hall will remain at the 2012-13 charges of
$3240 per semester or $6280 for academic year (the application fee and security fee
will be waived).
Personal Expenses= Food, books, transportation and supplies are considered
personal Expenses under the category of the cost of attending
college and would be required to demonstrate their ability to
support such expenses for the Student I20 and Visa.
8) Short-listed colleges of North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon under the
Programme:

- Bhusawal Arts, Science & P.O. Nahata Commerce College, Bhusawal.
- Pratap College, Amalner.
- Jaihind Educational Trust’s Z.B. Patil College, Dhule.
- S.S.V.P.S.S. Science College, Dhule.
- Arts, Science and Commerce College, Navapur.
- PSGVP Mandal’s Arts, Science & Commerce College, Shahada.
Students after successful completing 2 years at the Cayuga Community College,
Auburn, USA will earn the Associate Degree of that Institution and earned credits will be
transferred to the NMU, Jalgaon which shall be treated as equivalent to S.Y. B.Sc. Students
shall have to complete third year in one of the seven colleges mentioned as above, in which
he/she has taken formal admission before departing to Cayuga Community College, Auburn,
USA.
9) Fees for the Test : Rs. 1000/- to be payable by a Demand Draft in the name of
Finance and Accounts Officer, NMU, Jalgaon.
10) Application Form : The students should down load the application form by clicking
at the link shown. The duly filled in application form along with Demand Draft
should be submitted in the office of Director, BCUD, Administrative Building, North
Maharashtra University, Jalgaon on or before 30 April, 2013.
