Pick of the Females at Pro-Char Charolais
1Lot
Wow, what an opportunity… David and Kristina proved last year they were committed to making the Fall Harvest event a
success by buying and selling some of the best in the sale. This year they wanted to do something even more special.
This spring they had the highest average in Canada on their bulls which sold in the North Central Alberta Breeders Sale. You can
pick any of the females that made this happen.
The potential here is unlimited to select a premier female to put into the front end of your herd or a donor program and receive
the rewards for years to come. You can choose a white or red factor female. It’s up to you.
Selection must be done by December 31, 2009. See more about their program online at www.prochar.ca, or give them a call.
In all the years we were raising Charolais cattle, we only had
a few red ones and they were real gems. Miss Prairie Cove
229P is a Raven daughter who was the dam of greats like
Specialist and Prestige, bulls that generated over $100,000 a
piece. Wildor Farms had many daughters from 229P at the
top of the herd.
Another great red female was Miss Prairie Cove 313N or Yahtzee, now owned by Cory Bremner of
Manitoba. Astute cattlemen admired this female displayed on an
elevated show bed on the side of the pen her dam was shown off in. This outstanding female went
on to be Grand Champion female at Red Bonanza under the scrutinizing eye of Cam Sparrow. POG
Red Lass 75L fits into the same class as these tremendous brood cows. When Tyler and I saw her at
Wagers, we decided if we were only going to have a few,, she should be one of them. This strong
hipped, big barreled female brought $14,500 in the Wager ‘08 sale and has been a consistent producer raising a herd sire for the Letniaks, Heatwave at $14,000. We are
offering the right to flush POG Red Lass 75L guaranteeing 6 freezable embryos. What an opportunity to jump ahead in the red factor Charolais business with a super cow.
This Novatel x Anjou Jeunnsse 55J has it ‘going on’
with great maternal genetics on both sides; her
mother is a ‘pound builder’ as you can see in her
daughter’s muscular build and both are exceptional
milkers. She is my top bred heifer so it was a very
hard decision to let her go. If you are at the sale,
then you must check out her half brother bull calf,
SCF Warden 40W and see why I call their mother a ‘pound builder’.
