This course aims to enhance the<br />

knowledge and skills <strong>of</strong> clinicians<br />

on diagnosis and treatment <strong>of</strong><br />

common medical conditions with<br />

an emphasis on therapeutics<br />

and long term follow up in the<br />

primary care setting.<br />

It will utilize whole class<br />

lectures, interactive workshops,<br />

case based presentations and<br />

discussions; multimedia video;<br />

and practical clinical<br />

attachments; with English as the<br />

medium <strong>of</strong> instruction.<br />

It will also provide a good<br />

opportunity for participants to<br />

interact with different specialists<br />

in internal medicine.<br />

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT<br />

<strong>The</strong> applicant must:-<br />

• hold a primary medical degree, and<br />

• have post-registration experience <strong>of</strong> not less than<br />

12 months.<br />

Applicants are expected to have access to the<br />

internet and an adequate command <strong>of</strong> English and<br />

computing skills.<br />

COURSE STRUCTURE<br />

• A 2-year part-time course with 12 modules <strong>of</strong><br />

academic study taught consecutively.<br />

• Each module comprises 12 hours <strong>of</strong> lecture and<br />

workshop, to be completed in one weekend<br />

(Saturday: 2:30pm to 7:00pm & Sunday: 9:00am<br />

to 6:30pm).<br />

• Each module also includes 2 hours <strong>of</strong> clinical<br />

attachment at the Queen Mary Hospital or other<br />

affiliated sites, usually conducted on a weekday,<br />

depending on the activities <strong>of</strong> the Divisions.<br />

COURSE FEE<br />

• Whole course: HKD23,000, payable on an annual<br />

basis in two equal instalments (subject to approval)<br />

• Occasional students: HKD2,500 per module<br />
