J/44 Specifications
HULL a DECK
. Lloyd's approved, ABS inspected and certified, aircraft
grade CK57 (6 lbs/cu.ft) Baltek end grained balsa laminate
construction using pre-impregnated biaxial and unidirec
tional glass rovings with Interplastic vinylester resin on the
outer hull layer to permit a 10 year warranty against
blisters.
. Lead A antimony fixed 90001b. a lf draft, fin keel bolted
to a deep moulded stub to permit detachment/attachment
for shipping overland, or for seasonal interchange with
shoal draft IJTO keel.
. White (other cobra are optional) Gel Coat hull and deck
with single (1.75" to 3.25") tapered bootstripe.
. Hull to deck joint bonded with 3M 5200 ami bolted on 6"
centers and covered with clear anodized 1.25" T track.

PROPULSION * STEERING
. Yanmar 4JH-TE turbocharged 62 hp, 4 cylinder, diesel
engine with fresh water cooling, Racor fuel filter and 160
amp alternator. J/44 cruises under power at 2500 rpm at
a speed of 7.8 knots. Maximum speed is 8.3 knots.
.Yanmar C-type recessed engine instrument panel in
cockpit with lexan cover including guages for tachometer,
fuel level, operating hour meter, fresh water temperature,
amperage, oil pressure, and oil temperature.
. Recessed Morse control gear shift and throttle .

out port located under aft starboard quarterberth.
