The M<strong>in</strong>istry <strong>of</strong> Environment and Forests with the assistance <strong>of</strong> the World Bank has<br />
undertaken the Clean Air and Susta<strong>in</strong>able Environment (<strong>CASE</strong>) project and one the subcomponents<br />
<strong>of</strong> this project foc<strong>use</strong>s on strengthen<strong>in</strong>g the regulatory framework for vehicular<br />
emission control. This emission control program is to be conducted through the <strong>in</strong>troduction <strong>of</strong><br />
stricter standards, compliance monitor<strong>in</strong>g and strengthened enforcement. For that reason,<br />
Enforcement Team <strong>of</strong> <strong>CASE</strong> Project has taken an <strong>in</strong>itiative to conduct vehicle emission test<strong>in</strong>g<br />
<strong>in</strong> major cities <strong>of</strong> <strong>Bangladesh</strong> viz., Dhaka, Chittagong Cox’s Bazar, Rajshahi, Khulna, Jessore,<br />
and Kustia.<br />
