A boiling bowl of talent, new projects, inspiring photography and the
feeling of a new beginning, that’s basically what Bwatt issue 6 is all about.
More than ever we are convinced that we are on the path of something
real and different. As we are ad free we don’t have anyone pushing us to
go in a certain direction — we basically follow you and follow what ever
we stumble over that we feel contributes to something inspiring on this
planet. We have just hit 1,4 million impressions and that’s a lot for such a
new magazine, so we are obviously doing something right here.
Oh Boys! For this issue we wanted some fresh energy and we got it for
sure. The cool boys Luke Worrall, Danny Blake and Jack Dalby were
all handpicked by the elite of the fashion world. They are featured in
campaigns for brands such as Saint Laurent, Burberry, Dior and CK Jeans
and we just wanted to know what that actually feels like. We have their
thoughts on their fast growing modelling careers, hear about how it all
started and get to dive in to their dreams and passions in life and where
they are going!
We are also lucky to feature the talented fashion photographer Daniella
Midenge, I have been following her work myself as I really get so inspired
by the fearlessness in her photography and I wanted to share her creative
story with you.
And then, we of course, packed the magazine with lots of photo candy so
jump on into it and let us inspire you once again…

When did you start taking photos and what made
you proceed it ?
I have always had a huge love for images, as a teenager
I collected Vintage Vogue’s, Interview, Arena etc, all
stored in my room.
I took out my favourites from Peter Lindbergh, Ellen
VU, Hans Feurer and framed them. Being able to paint
I started out as a make-up artist with 18. I used to work
extra in a gayclub in Stockholm and do the drags before
moving on to editorial and commissioned work. On
shoots I got very involved with the art direction, and I
tried out a camera on a friend of mine and absolutely
loved it, was such adrenalin when I saw how it came out,
there was no way back after that point. I still love to do
the make up and hair for my shoots when its possible.
Your composition in your images are so
intense and beautiful, do you use a lot of time
planning the composition or do they emerge
intuitively while shooting?
Thank you. Anyone who knows me knows that
I’m not big on planning, I can’t even make
a dinner reservation! I do love to develop a
concept/idea though, I’m definitely not planning
my composition beforehand. Almost all my
favourite images happened spontaneously.
All the models/people in your photographs
have A very strong and sexy persona/
expression/body composition how do you get
that out of Them ? Or are you just very good
at picking out models with that natural spirit
in Them?
Everyone has it. Everyone! Its just a matter of
direction and bringing it out. And to see what fits
this particular person. I get very focused on the
person I’m shooting, its a temporary love affair.
ever going to give that away — I love that part just
as much as photography. Life is what nspires me
every day, a well cut neck passing by, the smell of
spring, an old lady with too much make up on, the
punks jackets on the street, an amazing song and
the smile on someones face when i show them a
portrait i took of them.
What are your goals within your work with
photography. Stories to tell, places to travel?,
people to capture?
I’m not very goal driven, although I know how
to make things happen and push thru an idea,
or go ahead with a dream, but for me its never
been very set up how I want my career to play
out. Honestly I wasn’t expecting a lot of things
that has happened the last few years, everything
evolved rather quick and I’m super grateful for
been given the opportunities to travel, the trust
from clients and to do what I love. But I need to
have exhibitions! Thats my goal now haha.
BWATT ISSUE 06 25
Tell us about your love for photography , do
you prefer natural light or are u more Into
big light settings ?! Are you involved in the
retouching process yourself ? And who/what
inspires you to push yourself to grow Every
time you take pictures ?
Natural light, that gives me space to let the model
be free and move around and focus on more
interesting things such as the dept of the lipstick
or how the hair falls haha! I do all my retouching
myself, its a part of the process, I don’t think I’m

Interview by
Line Givskov
Shining on the cover as the first male faces of
Bwatt magazine…
Meet Danny Blake, Luke Worrall and Jack Dalby,
the new cool kids of the International Fashion World.
One thing they have in common is a modeling career,
with d1 models agency in London, but that’s about it.
What they all have as well is Personality & Character
but in their own very unique way, which is why the
camera and the fashion world truly love them.
In a time of it-girls and it-boys, superstar models,
actors in fashion and vice versa, a model is so much
more than a pretty face. And of course, so are our Boys.
They have already worked with top photographers and
brands in the industry, big campaigns, covers, and with
a growing fan base on instagram it still seems to be
just the beginning of huge and adventurous career.
They manage to add a piece of a story, a mood, and a
feeling to the photographs and fashion stories. In Bwatt
magazine it is exactly what we are driven by and what
we wish to inspire to; Be Watt you want in Fashion and
in Life and embrace the oddities and the unique.
Be it a shy or a forward personality, freckles or a scar,
tattoos or none, it is interesting, there is room for it
all, and excitingly it is a movement that is happening
world wide.
When you are true to yourself, and as these cool boys,
dare to stand in your own unique personality, with an
open mind, with a fierce attitude, with confidence, the
courage to stand out, to not be perfect and to be you;
what can you achieve? Anything, is the answer, as you
are already standing in your own success.
For that very reason Danny, Jack and Luke are truly
ones to watch. For that very reason they are this issues
fierce cover Boys…
@lukejeanworrall
Hey Luke, tell us where you are right now, and what you are up to? I’m in my friends camper waggon preparing my things for
Glastonbury festival as I’m leaving Friday to build there. Where did you grow up, and how did that shape you? I am from South London,
in your eyes is a true icon? and Why? As a true icon I would say my father, he was truly an amazing man and gave a lot of love and
kindness to many people and will be forever remembered. I have met several people that I would say are Icons to me, but my true icon will
always be my father. Where and how did your modeling career start? I started my modeling career in London, I was on my way home
from Camden skate park and was scouted outside Camden station by my agent Dean, and have been with d1models since. What are your
I guess not much else can affect your work other than this. In 3 words how would you describe yourself ? I would describe my self as
squiggly happy and thoughtful. What are your dreams and aspirations for the future? My dreams and aspirations are being fulfilled
by traveling and being able to see and experience the world. What is the best advise ever given to you? The best advice was given to
me by my Dad: “Son, party and have fun but make sure to think ahead and take care off and look after your mother” I think of this often,
and make sure to always remember what my Dad said. When are you most happy? I’m most happy when I know I have completed my
day and fullfilled the tasks I set out to do. And spend time with my family and friends.

JACK DALBY
#young-star #hedislimane #ysl #saintlaurent #burberry
@jack_dalby06
Hey Jack, Tell us what you are doing right now? I am at home revising physics for my exam on Thursday, hopefully helping for my final
exam. Where did you grow up? I grew up in Woodford in north east London. What part of your childhood do you think have been
shaping you into the young man you are today? I think my football career and my Dad shaped me into who I am today. He has installed
into me into the kind of person I am today, along with my mum and education. Who in your eyes is a true icon? Who do you look up
to? When I was a kid I looked up to david Beckham as my idol. He was everything I wanted to be, a footballer and a legend. How did your
modeling career start?I got scouted in Westfields whilst shopping, by a d1 agent, very random. What are your personal thoughts
about the fashion industry based on your experiences so far? I think there are lots of misinterpretations by normal people of the
fashion industry and models. It is very normal, compared to how people view it. What has been your most memorable experiences in
your work as a model so far? My best experience was shooting the Saint Laurent campaign (with Hedi Slimane) in LA, it was amazing.
And worst? The worst was a 22 hour long shoot in the freezing cold, in only swim wear, only not to get published in the magazine. In 3
words how would you describe yourself ? Confident, strong-willed and independent. What are your dreams for the future? I hope
to model for a few more years. After that I would like to go to university and study history. My career ambitions are either to become a
barrister in corporate law, or join the army as an officer. What is the best advise ever given to you? The best advise given to me was that
life’s too short to not have fun every day. When are you most happy? I’m most happy when I have no worries with school or anything,
and hanging out with my friends with a few beers.
COLLAGE BY MARIE ROEGILDS. I HAVE ALLWAYS BEEN CREATIVE. I THINK I HAVE IT FROM MY MOTHER WHO IS A AN ARTIST… WHEN
French sounding electro pop for dreamers…
An ocean of airy, French vocal, waves of glittering laser
sound, solid movement of the soft ocean bed.
With Télé Rouge one meets the Nordic fascination
of French elegance in sound, which clings around both
lust, love and life. Here retro and sci-fi merge in longing,
melancholy and rocky energy.
Spot-on melodies with an edge are perfect hashtags,
and in the making of the group’s music, Télé Rouge
dances playfully around in a mirror-coated ballroom
to beats, analogue synths, forbidden slapbass moves
and cobweb silver patterns on a chorus guitar.
In 2015 the band’s second album, Transformation,
was released. To many people this requires a reinvention
of the concept, when the second album has to find its
form, but this is not a problem which has burdened
these three musicians. The album winds thematically
around the situations where the known sphere ends and
the new one begins. The album came into existence in
collaboration with the producers Henrik Balling and
Rune Borup.
We met with the band to have a talk about, dreams,
passion and what drives them as a band…

Where did the three of you and how did
you get started in making your music?
Christian: Una and I first met in 2009 when Una
joined my old band KKT. We were hanging out
in the same clubs in Copenhagen and playing all
kinds of noisy shogazer rock together. We were
touring a lot and were of course talking music all
the time. Soon we discovered that we also shared
a passion for electronic music. Una introduced
me to Anders, and she was always talking about
this new project she was going to start. She called
it “Télé Rouge”.
How has the “ride” to your success been
until now? Has it been a struggle to keep
on going or has everything just come
very naturally?
Anders: Being in Télé Rouge gives me
associations of a long hitchhiker’s journey.
Sometimes we have to walk, sometimes we
are picked up and some times we even ride the
car ourselves. Working closely together can be
challenging, but at the same time we are each
other’s best friends and the music is our shared
darling. In view of that the work is done naturally.
Una: I was messing around with old casio
keyboards hunting a naive 8-bit sound as a
contrast to many hours of practicing the jazz
guitar at the conservatory. Rumours said that
a cool keyboard gig called Anders flourished in
the same school, and I imagined that sharing the
same interests, he would be an obvious member
of the band. It paid off! Anders was in. We called
Christian, and “Télé Rouge” was born!
Why did you choose to sing in French when
you are all Danish natives ?
Una: In my early teens I enjoyed watching
French films and fell in love with the beautiful
sound of the language. I developed crazy
fantasies about being French and living in
Paris. I had to fulfil my dreams, and as soon
as I had the chance I moved to France at the
age of twenty. I had one only goal: to learn and
to be French. Years later, back home in Denmark
Anders and Christian were ready to join me
on this crazy French trip as they were both
inspired by French artists such as Serge
Gainsbourg, Air and Jean-Michel Jarre. All
three of us love the experimental and original
sound of these iconic artists.
Does the foreign language make you more
fearless ? Do you dare to experiment more
because of it ?
Una: Yes, you can say so. At first, it was a little
scary to release an album in Denmark with
French lyrics. Most Danish artists sing in either
English or Danish so we had no idea of how the
audience would receive our music. But it went
really well! We got good reviews and new fans!
Christian: Choosing to sing in French is, in
a Danish context, an odd choice and we have
received all sorts of reactions. But for us it’s
interesting to use the lyrics and the French
language as a soft texture in the arrangements.
We have always tried to express the meaning
and atmosphere in the music itself so one
could understand the songs without knowing
any French.
Una: Are we more fearless? …yes I think so.
We have realized that the best way of having a
strong musical expression is to be true to our
own sensations.
Una: We can’t help ourselves from keeping on
working and playing together because we all
yearn for the project. And as soon as we are on
stage it’s worth all the struggle. This is where
Télé Rouge is rewarded.
How have you guys kept up the enthusiasm
in slow periods?
Una: Periods with little activities give us the space
we need to be creative; making music, getting new
ideas, planning gigs and tours, shooting videos
and arranging meetings. So, in fact, we don’t have
slow periods. We have setup basic rules in order
to prevent ourselves from phoning each other too
late at night with new ideas… this could cause too
many sleepless nights.
Christian: Playing our music in front of
different audience in Europe is a very strong
motivation. But overall it’s also about making
use of our sometimes very different creative
energies. We are focused on embraising our
diversity and individuality in order to create
good space for each other’s work and creativety.
How is it going right now?
Anders: Good! We are still promoting our second
album “Transformation” having just returned
from a great trip to Germany. Several German
Radio Stations have welcomed us and now our
music is properly spread out. The last year has
been very exciting in many ways. The second
album release has given us many new exciting
opportunities. Such as playing all over Europe and
of cause at Bwatt Release Party in Copenhagen!
What is your goal for the future and how are
you going to reach it ?
Una: Our goal is to conquer Europe! Hahaha…
Christian: We are going to Paris in September
in order to write songs for our next album, and
to play concerts. Specifically, we are looking
forward to playing at the opening of an exhibition
called “Don’t Run Out” at Galerie Joseph. New
songs have already begun popping up in our
minds. A goal is to chatch these ideas and to make
theme real.
Anders: Playing outside Europe is also a goal!
Actually, we have many goals and the best way for
us to reach them is to continue writing music that
excites and to play extraordinary concerts.
