<strong>Randy</strong> <strong>Frazier</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>“Leadership</strong> Takes<br />

Courage” is keynote speaker<br />

Native Arkansan <strong>Randy</strong> <strong>Frazier</strong> received his biology degree from<br />

UCA in 1974. That same year he began a 30-year Leadership-<br />

Management career with the Arkansas Department <strong>of</strong> Parks and<br />

Tourism. During the last 24 years <strong>of</strong> that career he managed one <strong>of</strong><br />

Arkansas’ most popular tourist attractions,<br />

Pinnacle Mountain State Park. In that same<br />

time period he also served his department<br />

as a fully commissioned law enforcement<br />

<strong>of</strong>ficer, an EMT instructor, mountain rescue<br />

team member, hospitality instructor, and a<br />

certified self defense instructor with a First<br />

Degree Black Belt in Karate.<br />

Prior to his retirement from Arkansas State<br />

Parks in 2005, he also became a nationally<br />

recognized motivational speaker and trainer<br />

on the subject <strong>of</strong> Leadership. Today he is a Pr<strong>of</strong>essional member <strong>of</strong> the National<br />

Speakers Association, president <strong>of</strong> Leadership Takes Courage, and<br />

has been appointed by two Governors to the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission and he served as<br />

chairman for the 20907 International Leadership Alumni <strong>Conference</strong>.<br />

He has received recognition for his work a leader and motivator. The Arkansas Wildlife Federation<br />

has named him Conservation Educator <strong>of</strong> the Year and the Arkansas EMT Association has honored<br />

him as Emergency Medical Technician <strong>of</strong> the Year. He was named Outstanding State Employee in<br />

1993 by the Arkansas State Employee Association and in 2004 the Arkansas Division <strong>of</strong> Volunteerism<br />

honored him with the Paragon Award for his leadership in helping to improve the quality <strong>of</strong> life for<br />

the citizens <strong>of</strong> Arkansas. In December 2010, Keep America Beautiful, Inc. named <strong>Randy</strong> <strong>Frazier</strong> as<br />

recipient <strong>of</strong> the Iron Eyes Cody Award for exceptional leadership.<br />

As I am writing this, the <strong>District</strong> <strong>6800</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> is just a few days away. You will not want to miss the wonderful programs<br />

that are being finalized for your enlightenment and enjoyment.<br />

David Morgan is our Presidential representative at the <strong>Conference</strong>. David is from Wales and will be sharing<br />

with us at the Friday evening Past <strong>District</strong> Governor Dinner. All attendees are invited to be there and help<br />

us honor the Rotarians who have served in Leadership Roles.<br />

Dr. Phil Williams, an outstanding Rotarian from the <strong>Rotary</strong> Club <strong>of</strong> Greater Huntsville, will honor us with<br />

his presence and report on The <strong>Rotary</strong> Foundation.<br />

<strong>Randy</strong> <strong>Frazier</strong>, who has spoken in over 40 states, will be our Saturday luncheon speaker, sharing his<br />

thoughts on leadership with laughter and learning!<br />

You will have an opportunity to fellowship with other Rotarians and their spouses and enjoy a great weekend<br />

in Tupelo at the BancorpSouth Center.<br />
