THE STATE OF SURFSKATE:
Carver’s in-house R&D creating the most advanced evolution of surfskate in the world.
Nearly 70 years ago the surfboard grew wheels and slid onto the paved streets like some Darwinian salamander, spawning a
school of skateboarding that is looking back to its watery origins and reclaiming surfing once again. And how surfing has changed.
Pumping fast down the line, tight cutbacks, roundhouses… that old skateboard just can’t keep up. Carver has been leading the
charge for the past 18 years with our commitment to real surfskate performance, and for 2014 we have raised the bar even further.
We’ve expanded our line of shortboard surfskates, creating incremental sizes in-between whole numbers so you can really dial in
the best fit for your size and style of riding. Plus we’ve released the newly updated CX, C7 and C2 trucks, increasing the pump and
carve of each one significantly. And we’ve brought on team rider Josh Kerr with two new Pro models, the USA Surf Team with two
new Olympic models and Sean Mattison, Carver’s resident surf trainer, with his own Training model based on his Flying Manta
surfboard. This new line-up represents the most advanced surfskate equipment ever, and is a result of our meticulous methods of
continuous improvement at both our El Segundo factory and Venice design studio over many years.
SURFSKATE
4
The SURFSKATE SERIES features shorter decks that are meant to pump easily and carve the tightest of turns, which is why
they excel as flatland surfers. Just a little rail to rail and you’re carving with speed and power. They pump so easily you
can even make sections uphill so you never put your foot down. The surfy templates are wide where they need to be to
give you that wide platform to plant your stance for maximum control.

25.5” Tye Stick
The little backpack-sized shredder has never been more functional.
This micro-surfer has all the performance of a bigger board, while
still keeping the compact portability we love about a mini.
Comes complete with 5.0 CX trucks
and 65mm/78a Aqua Roundhouse Wheels.
L: 25.5” W: 8” N: 2” T: 5” WB: 14.25”
27.5” Mini Simmons
The 27.5” Mini Simmons was inspired by super short blunt-nosed
boards. For our skateboard version this means you get a shorter,
lighter board with a wider nose right over the truck so you can place
your foot as far forward as you want with full support all the way to
the tip. Without any extra weight past that, the deck is lighter and
easier to throw around, making pumping this mini fast and easy.
Comes complete with 6.5 CX trucks
and 70mm/78a Smoke Roundhouse Wheels.
28” Kerrzy Snapper (pro series)
When we met with Josh Kerr to session design ideas for his new models
we were stoked to find that he already had a strong vision for this model.
The first thing he said was how much he liked riding the little board we
had given his son. He loved how snappy it was, and told us how much
pumping he did just in his driveway. We love that too, so we were stoked
to make one this one for him.
29” Swallow (artist series)
29.75” Serape
30” USA Booster (pro series)
6
The 29” Swallow has been one of our favorite boards for years and
a staple in the Carver quiver. The combination of short and wide is
magic, because the shorter wheelbase makes pumping this board on
the flats just effortless, but the extra width and concave makes it a
comfortable cruiser, too. We’ve updated the graphic with one of
surf-artist Ryan Kleiner’s hand painted waves, evoking exactly the
feeling of looking through the eye of the tube
Comes complete with 6.5 C7 or CX trucks
and 70mm/78a Smoke Roundhouse Wheels.
L: 29 ¾” W: 9 7/8” N: 3 ¼” T: 6 ¼” WB: 16 ¼”
The Serape, which is the Spanish name for the traditional Mexican
blanket, is one of our new incremental length short boards which fills
in the gaps between whole-number sizes. Since the quickest pumping
comes from smaller boards we’ve added numerous in-between sizes so
you can really dial in your selection. For this model we wanted a small
template with a longer wheelbase, so you get the performance of a
slightly longer board with a smaller, lighter deck.
Comes complete with 6.5 C7 or CX trucks
and 70mm/78a Smoke Roundhouse Wheels.
L: 29” W: 9 5/8” N: 3 3/4” T: 6 1/8” WB: 15 1/2”
Carver is a proud sponsor of the USA Surf Team, the hottest group of
groms to ever snap a turn. During a recent training session in Huntington
Beach we met up with the team, to test new demos and get feedback on
board design. They all liked the performance of a 30” board with a 16”
wheelbase, but wanted a little more nose kick to really lock the front foot
in place for more progressive riding. The team now uses this board in
training sessions to work on flow, power, stamina and style, and we have
already witnessed the boost this has given the team.
30” Eggbeater
We love progressive surfing as much as the next shredder, but we also
love the current look back at vintage surfboards and traditional styles
of wave riding. Inspired by all the little Eggs we’re seeing in the line-up,
we made the Eggbeater in the style of a single fin hull, a rounded pintail
that’s still short enough to snap turns as much as it carves smooth and
flowing lines. Even the graphic is a throwback to traditional surfboard
designs, with a darker rail, center stringer and visible tail patch.
Comes complete with 6.5 C7 or CX trucks
and 70mm/78a Smoke Roundhouse Wheels.
30.25” Firefly
With the 30.25” Firefly we’ve shaved ¾” off our popular 31 Resin to
make this board even snappier while still retaining the same
progressive shape of an archetypal squash tail. The narrower nose
keeps the front of the board light and nimble, while the proper kick tail
is a wedged deckpad that locks in your back foot where it counts
Comes complete with 6.5 C7 or CX trucks
30.75” Amber Flag
Wide tailed boards are so much fun because you can still rip on
small sections and get lots of speed on the flats too. And they’re
especially good for airs because you have all that room in the tail
to push off of when you leave the ground, and a full nose to land
on. The Amber Flag is that kind of surfskate, wide nose and tail
for full foot support and increased leverage in carves, but short in
length so you can snap tight turns and get height.
31.25” Stacked (artist series)
A classic rounded squash tail with a full nose, the Stacked is so named
because of the stack of peeling waves in Alex Krastev’s painted graphic.
Stacked! The mid-sized length falls nicely between our shorter progressive
models while inching up on some of our mid-sized models, making
for a well rounded, universal cruiser. The extra width in the nose allows
you to stand farther forward while keeping plenty of foot support, letting
you take a wider stance and move around more.
Comes complete with 6.5 C7 or CX trucks
and 70mm/78a Smoke Roundhouse Wheels.
L: 29” W: 9 5/8” N: 3 3/4” T: 6 1/8” WB: 15 1/2”
31.75” Kerrlage (pro series)
Like any dedicated surfer, team rider Josh Kerr has different boards
for different conditions. As part of his Carver quiver he wanted a longer
diamond tail deck for bigger carves and faster lines to compliment his
shorter 28” Snapper model. We kept the width slightly pulled in to keep
the weight down, and with a little extra length you can widen your stance
when pumping for speed and get plenty of leverage over the front truck.
Comes complete with 6.5 C7 or CX trucks
and 70mm/78a Smoke Roundhouse Wheels.
31 ¾” W: 9 ¾” N: 3 ¾” T: 6 3/8” WB: 17 ½”
31” Da Monsta (pro series)
The 31” Da Monsta is a collaboration with master shaper Todd
Proctor from Ventura CA, and is a surfskate with the same look
and feel of his popular ‘Da Monsta’ surfboard model. Described
as ‘a surfboard you can skate on waves’, the pairing with our
surfskate technology is just a perfect fit.
31” Fort Knox Black (pro series)
Taylor had a hand in every aspect of the design of his signature
model, from the template shape and specs to the graphics.
Everything is designed to work with Taylor’s style of power
surfing, from the wide tail and nose to the trimmed wheelbase,
which provides a bit more pumping speed. This is the board he
cross trains on for strength and flow.
Comes complete with 6.5 C7 or CX trucks
31” Resin
The narrow nose template and wide tail is just like your
favorite squash-tail wave killer. It’s plenty wide and just the
right length so you can snap and pump the flats with ease,
and drop in to any hill with confidence.
31.5” Von Sol (pro series)
We were stoked to meet Sean Mattison, he has a natural
connection with the performance of our surfskates. To capture his
dynamics on land we kept the deck a short 31 ½” overall but pushed the
trucks out for a longer wheelbase. At 18 ½” it’s comparatively
longer than other boards of similar length, giving it a more
drawn-out line and very fast pump.
32” Inallofus (artist series)
The Inallofus reintroduces our Rocker mold, a flat-rockered shape that curves
upward just like your surfboard. We have all become so accustomed to decks with
concave that we forget how good it feels to ride a flat-rocker deck. The first thing
you’ll notice is how the curvature of the deck cants your feet inward slightly, leading
you to drop your knees towards each other. This stance in combination with a flat
deck feels more like you’re standing on a surfboard than any other deck.
Comes complete with 6.5 C7 or CX trucks
and 70mm/78a Smoke Roundhouse Wheels.
32.5” USA Team Resin (pro series)
We refer to this board around the factory as the ‘Masters’ model,
because we recognized that the bigger guys on the USA Surf Team
needed a model too. Like a 6’ 10” surfboard, this is a performance board
for the men on the team, a board that holds a fast line with its extended
wheelbase, all the while cutting smooth lines across the asphalt with the
stability of full sized performance deck.
Comes complete with 6.5 C7 or CX trucks
and 70mm/78a Smoke Roundhouse Wheels.
34” Greenroom (artist series)
This mid-sized board is the perfect retro rider; wide diamond tail for solid foot
placement and stretched out wheelbase for a wider stance and increased
stability. The Artist Series graphic is by renowned surf artist Matt Beard.
HOW TO PUMP
1. Apply some heel-to-toe pressure, rocking the board back and forth.
2. As in surfing, twisting the upper body into the direction you want to go will pull the board in that direction too.
3. Coordinate the upper body twist with the heel-to-toe pressure and you will feel the board thrust forward.
4. Bend your knees and pump, while keeping your nose on the ground.
TRANSITION
The TRANSITION SERIES features a double-kick mold profIle that’s perfect for parks, banks and any kind of inclined transition.
The front nose kick locks your front foot in place so you can take on the vertical wall with confidence. This series works well with
our C7 truck set for extreme surfing performance, but is particularly suited to our hybrid surfskate CX truck set. The CX’s light
weight and increased stability makes ollies and airs a breeze, while still offering the snap and pump you want in a surfskate.
The double-kick 32” Fraktal is one of the staples of the Carver line, redesigned
for 2014. We kept everything about this board that made it great, from the mellow
concave and pool-and-park friendly deep tail and nose kick, to the black and white
mathematically-generated graphic pattern. It has all the elements you need to integrate
transition, vert and air into you street surfing line. We kept it wide, but we found
that we could still shave off an inch of nose while retaining the same wheelbase,
resulting in a lighter board with the same turn characteristics.
Light and full of pop, this is the ultimate surf/skate mash up for progressive riding.
LONGBOARD
This classic LONGBOARD SERIES draws out your carves into smooth, controlled lines, but typically the longer wheelbase makes them
stiff and unresponsive. With Carver’s truck systems these big boards can pump and carve surprisingly tight lines, and still handle
speed and hills with stability and style. These sticks are meant to perform, and are backed up by kicktails and spooned-nose
concave for full functionality. And yet, with the generous length
it’s easy to enjoy a cruise across town, too.
36” Venice Pintail (artist series)
One of our most popular longboard lengths, the 36” Pintail is such a versatile street
surfer because of its balance between wheelbase and deck length in combination with
our patented surfing truck systems. The medium-long wheelbase is short enough to
pump for speed on the flats, while the deck is long enough to either cruise to the market
or get you down the biggest hills in town with full control.
42” Hotdogger
Since we only need but one classic longboard in our quiver we went for
our favorite classic 1960’s hotdog shape. In an era when this
represented the highest in surfboard performance, this was the classic
template; wider at the tail for a rearward pivot point and narrower
towards the nose for better trim on the face of the wave. With our super
snappy surf trucks this giant of the waves truly does live up to its shape.
carves to the slight flex of the springy maple deck. Cruise the boardwalk
FREERIDE
Always on the cutting edge of skateboarding, Carver has developed the next generation of Downhill, Freeride and Freestyle
boards. Starting with the heart of any set up, we’ve perfected the standard RKP (Reverse King Pin) truck from years of
prototyping and testing, targeting the latest developments in riding styles. Around this core we’ve built a solid quiver of cutaway
decks, each the embodiment of it’s own distinct riding style.
18

38” Chopsicle (artist series)
This little-big-board is the most versatile cut-away on the street. The
name is a combination of the chopped-and-dropped trucks crossed with
a traditional street skating popsicle stick. From flatland tricks to downhill
sliding, this blend of symmetrical nose and tail and lowered platform
delivers the performance for a new generation of trick skating. Intricate
41” Drifter (artist series)
This symmetrical Drop Up shape is built for speed. The 11 ply construction
adds heft and stability, so whether your pushing across town through traffic
or carving and sliding down a paved hill, the Drifter will hold your line without
chatter, and the angled Gas Pedals along the rail help give your feet an
extra edge for better control. Acclaimed skater and artist Jason Adams
42” Platypus
Here you have a symmetrical bottom mount cutaway deck with large
functional kicks nose and tail. The 7 ply deck is light, the wheelbase is
short for it’s length so this board is meant to pop, shove and flip. While
it’s taller than a dropped deck, the trucks mount without risers directly
to the wood for a low profile, and the design of the cutaways along
with the wheel wells means there will never be any wheelbite.
CARVER C7
This is the signature truck that started it all. Still the smoothest turning, fastest pumping surf truck ever, it's at the leading edge of true surfskate
performance. The patented second axis of this front truck not only increases the turning radius of your carve, but lets you snap the nose and pivot your turns
off the tail. This dynamic creates thrust and drives you forward with increasing speed. The striking similarity to
surfing performance has made the C7 the choice for surf training by pros and ams alike.
20
This truck is sold as a Set with hardware and risers, or as a Truck Kit with wheels, bearings, risers, hardware and Pipewrench,
and is available in 5.0" (7 5/8" axle width) or 6.5" (9" axle width) and is also available with Black Powdercoating.

CARVER CX
This is Carver’s hybrid surf and skate truck. On the one hand it’s a lightweight standard RKP (Reverse King Pin) hanger and base, on the
other it has a patented geometry that squeezes every bit of turn and pump from the system. This means that you can pump this truck like a
C7, but it lands airs and rides fakie with more stability as well. This opens up aerial maneuvers, and keys in with the latest progression of airs
in surfIng. Updated for 2014, the more open bushing cup frees up the range of pivot so this truck can pump more than ever.
CARVER CV
The Drop Thru is thru! The Drop Thru base was always a funky work-around, a way to lower the height of a standard
RKP truck. No one ever wanted a baseplate sticking up on the deck side! Carver has taken the same geometry and
hanger from the CV and made a baseplate that still utilizes the same lowering principle of dropping the pivot through the deck, but we replaced the mounting
flange back to the bottom of the board where it belongs. Now standard mounting hardware is once again flush with the deck, as is the base plate. Plus the
smaller oval deck cut-out afforded by the streamlined base makes for a stronger deck.
CARVER CV
This truck has been in development for years, the dark little secret we’ve been testing to perfection with our friends. It’s the traditional 50 degree RKP (Reverse King
Pin) truck that we critiqued on a micro level and fIxed all the bugs. The straighter kingpin eases the rail a bit so you get a smoother range with firmer bushings, which
stiffens up the center so pushing and speed are stabilized. The softer rail makes these trucks great hill carvers, and makes initiating a slide easier.
CARVER C2
This classic configuration of skateboard truck is the rear pivot for both the C7 and CX sets. A great truck in it’s own right, it’s been tweaked to work in tandem
with the extreme turning characteristics of our front trucks. The steeper kingpin increases the rail range, and the taller baseplate is the perfect match for our
taller (2.5”) front trucks. Available in 5.0” (7 5/8” axle width) or 6.5” (9” axle width).
Roundhouse Wheel Series - 65 mm/81a Aqua - 70 mm/78a Smoke - 75 mm/81a Aqua Carver Radials - 65mm /78a Pipewrench
The Roundhouse Wheel Series
Our trucks are all about carving, and wheel traction is key, so we’ve designed a wheel that is all about grip and speed. The Roundhouse is a
delicate balance of a square-edged lip to maximize grip and a harder center profIle for speed. The key is in the shape of the lip; thin at the
edge but quickly getting thicker, with a hollow relief near the core. What this does is create a spring-loaded, rebounding lip, so each time you
pump for speed the wheel pumps back. And because the contact patch is nice and wide you can really dig into your rail and these wheels
stick.
Made in the USA from custom mixed urethane specifIcally formulated for Carver’s new Roundhouse brand.
The Carver Radial Series Wheel
These 65mm wheels have the perfect combination of grip and slide properties. The soft 78A durometer urethane grips the road exceptionally
well, but the rounded lip provides a nice breakaway point for slides and speed scrubbing. The center-set bearings allow you to rotate your
wheels for even wear, extending their usable life.
Pipewrench
This stainless steel universal pocket shop measures in at under 2 1/2” in length, so it’s easy
to bring along on a session for on-the-fly adjusting. Made of tool-grade stainless steel, it won’t
rust, break or wear out, guaranteed. The Allen key snaps on with a powerful neodymium magnet.
C7 Link Set C7 Spring C7 Thrust Bearing Set C7 Upgrade Kit
C7 Link Set
We’ve upgraded our link so it’s made from Grade 8 steel with extra side ribs at the 90 degree bend for extra strength, and we’ve added a C-clip to the Spring
Bolt so that if it ever loosens up it will never fall out. It’s easy to install, just pull the clip off the groove, assemble the C7 as you normally would and then snap the C-clip on.
C7 Spring
We’ve made this custom Spring out of Rocket Wire, the best aerospace material we could find, for the longest continuous use possible. We also go to the extra steps of peening
the surface, which is a way to polish the surface so there are no minute cracks that can grow over time and contribute to Spring failure, and we lightly oil them to prevent
surface rust that also shortens duty cycle. We recommend that you use a liberal amount of Marine Grease (what we use at the factory) or a high quality bicycle bearing grease
for quiet and long-lasting action.
C7 Thrust Bearing Set
C7 Thrust Bearing Set: Like your wheel bearings, water, sand and heavy use can rust and/or wear out your bearings, so if you’re hard on your C7 truck you can always bring
that smooth rotation back to new again with this easily installed double Thrust Bearing Set with double-thick Thrust Washers”
C7 Upgrade Kit
Starting in 2009 we upgraded our Bottom Thrust Bearing Washers from standard thickness to double thickness. These heavy-duty Washers are much
more durable than the standard thickness Washers, but in order to fit them into the C7 we had to make more room on the Arm Bearing Plate for
them. So if you have a pre-2009 C7 and you need to replace your Thrust Bearings for any reason, whether because you have a cracked
Washer or a rusty or worn out Thrust Bearing Set, this Kit will provide you with all the parts you need to rebuild your C7 with the latest
improvements, including our newest Link, made with Grade 8 steel with extra side ribs at the bend for extra strength.
