About the Job:
The Analyst is responsible for conducting various research and analysis activities on microcredit pricing
data collected during country-specific projects and working with partner organization analysts to ensure
quality of data. He/she will also contribute to the development and dissemination of analytical and
educational materials. This is a 6 month contract position with potential for extension. Specific tasks and
responsibilities are outlined below.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
1. Data Research and Analysis:
Assist in the coordination of Transparent Pricing Initiatives
Assist in data collection activities from microfinance institutions
Assist in the data verification and cleaning of pricing data
Carry out pricing calculations and analysis of pricing data using MS Excel
Set up and maintain administrative systems for the data collection
Prepare data for publication on the MFTransparency website
Provide support the testing and development of MFTransparency tools and processes
Conduct country market research and create reports on the microfinance industry
2. Education and Training:
Provide support in the supervision and training of partners in data activities
Assist with the development of analytical reports based on pricing data
Assist with the development of educational materials aimed at industry stakeholders
Contribute web content and update WordPress website when required
3. Support special projects as assigned by MFTransparency Senior Staff.
Skills/qualifications/experience:
Experience working in the microfinance industry or experience of studying the microfinance
sector in an academic setting plus experience working in data management and analysis
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree preferably in economics, business, international development
or related field; Master’s degree in related subject or 2-4 years work experience preferred but
not required

Strong analytical and computer skills
Strong communication and writing skills
Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks
Self-initiative, self-motivated and resourceful in completing projects in a timely manner
Ability to work effectively in teams and independently, experience working with a remote team
preferred
High proficiency with Microsoft office applications, especially Excel
Fluency in English required, also prefer candidate fluent in Spanish
Terms of Contract
This is a 6 month full-time contract position operating in a virtual office, with likelihood of additional
contracts. Must provide own IT equipment and have access to fast internet connection.
