Under the terms of the agreement, DTZ will assist<strong>Insight</strong> in the due diligence process enabling <strong>Insight</strong> to access an even broader spectrum of <strong>loan</strong>s.DTZ will also provide <strong>Insight</strong> with data and property market views from its international researchteams.<strong>Insight</strong>’s CRE <strong>loan</strong>s team encompasses a five-strong <strong>Investment</strong> Committee and an eight-strong<strong>Investment</strong> Team. Joining the <strong>Investment</strong> Committee is Robert Peto, a property industry veteranof more than 40 years, who will advise <strong>Insight</strong> on property market trends and transactions.Peto is currently the chairman of DTZ <strong>Investment</strong> Management and served as a main boarddirector of DTZ for more than a decade. After training as a general practice surveyor, Peto headedvaluations and then fund management and was vice chairman of capital markets at DTZ.Throughout his career he has advised numerous pension funds, property firms and other assetowners on their <strong>real</strong> <strong>estate</strong> investment strategies. Peto is a Fellow and former Global President ofthe Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).The reduction of the appetite and capacity of the banking sector to finance CRE projects hascreated an opportunity for institutional investors. <strong>Insight</strong> is experiencing significant demand for itsexpertise in CRE <strong>loan</strong>s. In order to meet this demand, <strong>Insight</strong> is also appointing DuncanWestbrook as an analyst focused on <strong>commercial</strong> <strong>real</strong> <strong>estate</strong>. Typically, the borrower is looking toacquire ownership of a property, or refinance historical debt on an existing property, and seeks thefinancing in the same way a residential borrower does when taking out a mortgage.
