Stainless steel pipes for bridge drainageEN 10217-7/TC1 forms the general basis for the production of stainless steel pipes.STAINLESS STEEL PIPE SYSTEMMaterial according to ZTV-INGRegarding the design of pipes made of stainless steel, material 1.4571 must be selected according to DIN EN 10088 with aminimum wall thickness of 2mm.OpticsDue to the characteristics of stainless steel, no further coats are required.Roughness values - operationIdeal flow characteristics due to smooth internal surfaces (roughness value k (mm) < 0.05)InstallationLow weight and easy machinability ensure for a quick installation. The pipes are characterised by a constantouter diameter over the entire length. They can be cut at any position and mounted with Höllko connectors.The commercially available attachment systems can be used. No special protective paint coats are requiredThe contact of stainless steel with iron particles must be avoided. Suitable tools, cutting, and grinding devicesmust be used for processing purposes. Grinding dust from stainless steel cuts must be removed thoroughly as well.If the stainless steel processing instructions are followed, stainless steel is one of the most durable metal materials(see information centre stainless steel rust-free).Durability/maintenanceWithin the building and construction industry, stainless steel, material 1.4571, is used under normal atmospheric conditions.Due to air contaminations, an accumulation of deposits and contaminations on the metal surface occurs over time.If these contaminations are not washed away by the rainwater, an accumulation of pollutants resulting in optical impairmentswill occur over time. Stainless steel is durable, but requires regular care. The cleaning intervals depend on the degree ofcontamination, as well as the requirements regarding the optic. Dimensional differences (e.g. distances of the bridge gullies) can be accepted without concern,because the saddle piece with branch is positioned exactly at the location where it is required.Subsequent installation is possible without any problems.The installation of the longitudinal pipe is virtually possible without any length adaption.6Subject to technical changes - © with Höllko®

STAINLESS STEEL PIPE SYSTEMInstallation instructions for branch and cleansing saddle pieces, and cleansing covers.1.) Branch saddle piecea) The connecting pipe ND 150 is mounted close to the longitudinal pipe. The saddle pieceis initially positioned on the pipe. The final position of the saddle piece is marked.The oval pipe recess must also be marked on the pipe with a felt pen by reachinginto the branch nozzle from above.b) After having removed the saddle piece, the oval pipe recess is marked in accordance to paragraph a).This mark must be approx. 20 mm larger than the diameter of the incomingpipe (the mark of item a on all sides as shown in the drawing*).Continue with item d)*TOP VIEW (RECESS SADDLE PIECE 45°)20302.) Cleansing saddle piece and cleansing coverc) The recess for the cleansing saddle piece and the cleansing cover must be positioned at least 275mm(see drawing***) away from the edge of the branch saddle piece. This method preventsthe saddle pieces from overlapping. The size of the recess for thecleansing saddle piece and/or the cleansing cover can be found in the table below (see drawing**).3.) Branch, cleansing saddle piece, and cleansing coverd) The marked pipe recess can be cut with the help of a one-hand disc grinder with astainless steel cutting disc. The cutting disc must have a thickness of 1mm only.e) The cutting edges must then be deburred with a disc grinder equipped with a fan-shaped abrasive wheel(granularity 40 to 80).The cutting edge and possible stains caused by flying sparks must be cleansed thoroughly using abrasive fabric(granularity 100) up to the metal blank stainless steel surface. All grinding dust must be removed from the pipe.The protecting passive layer for stainless steel is formed automatically within approx. 14 days.f) At a distance of 2cm from the pipe recess, in the area of the sealing area, the stainless steel pipe has to be coveredwith a uniformly thick bead, width 10 - 20mm, with the adhesive, e.g. Sikaflex 11 FC.Please note the technical data sheet (processing temperature +5 degrees to +40 degrees celsius).(Cleansing cover is not attached with adhesive, item f is not applicable here)g) The saddle piece is positioned and aligned and the two related stainless steel band clampsare tightened uniformly until the half shell of the saddle piece has contact to the longitudinal pipe.Remaining sealing material must be removed thoroughly.h) Upon installation of the cleansing saddle piece, the screws of the covers has to be re-tightened.**PERSPECTIVE (RECESS OF THE CLEANSING SADDLE PIECE)***VIEW (DISTANCE BETWEEN THE SADDLES)Subject to technical changes - © with Höllko® 7
