The exhibition was divided into three<br />
main sections, which covered the<br />
past, present and future of Sarawak’s<br />
development story. However in total<br />
there were 20 galleries: The Days We<br />
Were, Strong Spiritual Foundation,<br />
Birth of Malaysia, Sarawak’s Leaders<br />
of the Era, Education: Unlocking the<br />
Doors to Opportunities, Economic<br />
Situation of the Era, Dark Days of<br />
Unrest, Strengthening of the Bangsa<br />
Malaysia Spirit, A New Era Begins,<br />
Politics of Development and the Barisan<br />
National, Politics of Development<br />
and the Public Sector, Politics of<br />
Development and the Private Sector,<br />
Politics of Development and the Civil<br />
Society, Our Trans<strong>for</strong>med Communities,<br />
Education, Agriculture, Infrastructure<br />
and the Economy, Tourism, Forestry,<br />
and finally, The Future.<br />
On entering the venue, visitors were<br />
greeted by a large mural, which<br />
featured the 45 th Celebration logo<br />
and the theme of the exhibition,<br />
which was ‘The People’s Choice …<br />
Our Dreams Fulfilled.’ As they<br />
proceeded <strong>for</strong>ward, visitors would<br />
come to a theatrette area, where<br />
various documentaries were screened,<br />
as well as excerpts of short films<br />
produced <strong>for</strong> the exhibition. From<br />
there, visitors proceeded to a kampong<br />
(village) scene from the 1960s, featuring<br />
large wall panels and cut-outs of<br />
children’s images from the era.<br />
