IBM SoftwareTivoliData SheetIBM Maximo Asset Management Scheduler also enablesplanners to manage task and work order dependencies, aswell as any lead and lag times that might exist in thosedependencies. Planners can use the embedded auto schedulingtool to schedule these tasks and work orders based ontheir duration and dependencies with other tasks, workorders, or PM segments. The two-stage commit processenables the planners to create “what if” scenarios before committingthe schedule results to the work orders and tasks.IBM Maximo Asset Management Scheduler graphically illustrates work orders and PM forecast segments on the Gantt view, accompanied by the craftrequirements to carry out the work.2

IBM SoftwareTivoliData SheetThe IBM Maximo Asset Management Scheduler possessesPM forecasting capabilities that allow the planner to createforecasts for any asset, easily respecting their varying levels ofcriticality. It allows them to look out into the future andadjust the overall schedule to meet the anticipated craft levels, not to mention the accommodation of events, shutdowns, orchanges in production levels. Planners may also incorporateupcoming project work and corrective maintenance workorders along with their forecasts within the Gantt view. Thiswill allow them to dynamically adjust schedules respectingany and all known upcoming activity. With Maximo AssetManagement Scheduler, planners are offered an easy to useplanning tool for scheduling all upcoming work, facilitatingoptimal resource utilization. The PM forecasting capabilities leverage the depth of PMfunctionality that is the heritage of Maximo. Any type of PMmay be projected outward to any sized forecast window.Automated tools insure that the forecast will be refreshed, with the desired forecast window automatically maintainedover time. These tools will also recognize and regeneratevariable interval forecasts that no longer are a true reflectionof the assets’ usage. Forecasts may have their dates moved, and optionally, have the move reflected throughout remainingdates within the forecast.IBM Maximo Asset Management Scheduler enables plannersto view all open work orders and forecast work on an asset ina Gantt chart so that they can be grouped logically andscheduled together to reduce asset downtime. The ability toview craft load against availability helps the planners toresolve resource over allocation and underutilization. Onedynamic view of emergency, planned, and unplanned work, that compete for schedule and resource, enables efficientwork planning and prevents costly production interruptionsand delays.3
