<strong>Glamox</strong> is the first lighting manufacturer to develop an <strong>Ex</strong> luminaire with constant high<br />
light output in cold <strong>areas</strong>. We have used our expertise and know-how to make a<br />
luminary that stands the test of temperatures down to -41 ºC and up to +45 ºC.<br />
<strong>MAX</strong> <strong>ICE</strong> is covering the demands from ship owners who require luminaires <strong>for</strong> <strong>arctic</strong><br />
<strong>areas</strong>.<br />
<strong>MAX</strong> <strong>ICE</strong> has a minimum lifetime of 50 000 hours, increasing at lower temperatures.<br />
Below 0 ºC, expected lifetime is up to 100 000 hours.<br />

Stena Drill<strong>MAX</strong> <strong>ICE</strong> is the worlds first<br />
drillship <strong>for</strong> Arctic conditions, allowing<br />
<strong>for</strong> safe and efficient operations with<br />
temperatures down to -30 ºC.<br />
Stena Drill<strong>MAX</strong> is an Ice strengthed<br />
version of the Stena Drill<strong>MAX</strong> drillship.<br />
The fleet is being built by Samsung Heavy<br />
Industries in South Korea.<br />
When the plan to build Stena Drill<strong>MAX</strong><br />
<strong>ICE</strong> started, the door was open <strong>for</strong> all<br />
suppliers to find the best lighting solution<br />
<strong>for</strong> temperatures down to -30 ºC. It soon<br />
became clear that fluorescent lighting was<br />
not an option <strong>for</strong> Stena when <strong>Glamox</strong><br />
offered <strong>Ex</strong> e approved <strong>LED</strong> luminaries’.<br />
<strong>LED</strong> is not affected by the ambient low<br />
temperature and gives constant high light<br />
output at all temperatures.
EXCELLENT LIGHT OUTPUT<br />
The light output <strong>for</strong> emergency light in minus degrees is excellent, the battery will also be charged at low temperatures.<br />
There is no glare, and the colour rendering is optimal.<br />
ACCORDING TO MARINE REQUIREMENTS<br />
<strong>MAX</strong> <strong>ICE</strong> is designed according to IEC<strong>Ex</strong>, ATEX, <strong>Ex</strong> e hazardous <strong>areas</strong> and marine requirements.<br />
The housing is made in deep drawn acid proof stainless steel.<br />
QUALITY BUILT ON YEARS OF EXPERIENCE<br />
<strong>MAX</strong> <strong>ICE</strong> is built with a high tolerance-level <strong>for</strong> severe vibrations. It starts and<br />
restrikes in cold <strong>areas</strong>, and is easy to install and maintain. <strong>MAX</strong> <strong>ICE</strong> is built<br />
on knowledge from the <strong>MAX</strong> range and long experience from the offshore market.<br />
