Copper cables canbe clamped without pretreatment or withferrules.The current-carrying metal parts of thescrew connections are made of high-grade,strain-crack and corrosion-proof copperalloys. This eliminates the possibility ofelectrolytic corrosion in the presence ofhumidity and the risk of rusting and itsconsequences.A further advantage is the low temperaturerise due to good electrical conductivity.Crimp connectionThe wire/crimp contact connection isestablished using a crimping tool suitablefor both the conductor cross-sectionand the crimp contact by the deliberatedeformation of the crimping area of thecrimp contact, and the wire. The wire isstripped, the crimp contact positionedin the crimping tool, the wire inserted,and the crimping tool closed. Done! Thecrimping method results in consistentcrimp quality and therefore constantlylow-contact resistances. Snapped-in crimpcontacts in the contact inserts can bereleased using a contact removal tool.Push-in connectionStranded conductors with splicingprotection or solid conductors can bedirectly inserted into the connectionwithout tools. A screwdriver is onlyrequired for the connection of smallercross-sections and to release theconductor. The connection space isopened using the screwdriver. All metal parts of theconnection are made of corrosion-resistantmaterials.IDC displacement connectionWith this connection method, an unstrippedwire is guided into the connection spacein front of the insulation displacementcontact of the QUICKON connectionand then levered into the gap using ascrewdriver, thereby severing the wireinsulation and creating a gas-tight contactbetween the wire and contact. Done! Thismeans that the wire does not have to bestripped in advance, which reduces theconnection time by at least 60%.With this method, wires can be connectedup to 10 times.
