ACADEMY OBJECTIVES• To assist the development of hockeyat regional & national levels byaligning playing styles, coachingprogrammes and philosophies• Extend coaching programmes intofeeder schools & local clubs by theenhancement of coaching links• Produce a successful 1st XI hockeyteam & structured player pathwaywhich delivers Hawke’s Bay & NZ agegroup rep players• Set clear strategic, measurable targets& goals in all areas of players’sporting, academic and personal life
IDENTIFICATION OF ACADEMY MEMBERS• Entrance to the <strong>Hockey</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> is by invite only• Prospective new entrants to the school need tocontact Mr Hulls or Mr Miller to discuss theprogramme and attend a trial• Current students will be judged on commitment totraining and matches, attendance, behaviour andacademic performance• ALL <strong>Academy</strong> students are required to sign acontract. They will be set targets in terms ofattendance, motivation, homework, behaviour andacademic performance which MUST bemaintained if they wish to stay in the programme• Elite players, including current 1 st XI players willbe expected to take part in an elite trainingprogramme. This will include holiday boosterprogrammes.

ONLINE LOG BOOKS<strong>Hastings</strong> Boys’ <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong><strong>Hockey</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> use online logbooks to ensure athletes meettheir responsibilities.Everyone involved in all aspects ofthe players lives has input to theonline logs, including theathlete.Targets are specific, achievable,measured and they are strictlymonitored as per athletecontracts.
