Brazil to British investors by means of exhibitions, seminars and similar events and to provideassistance to investors by facilitating contacts with Brazilian economic and trade bodies;d) To organize and promote trade and tourism events, seminars, workshops with a view tosupporting Brazilian investment policies aimed at investment in Brazil and the promotion ofBrazilian exports;e) To develop activities aimed at promoting Brazilian trade interests to the public in theUnited Kingdom; to maintain and disseminate updated information as well as updating thedatabase on relevant Brazilian trade, tax and customs legislation ;f) To support Brazilian exporters by providing them with information on the Britishmarket, by arranging appointments and meetings for them as well as identifying potentialpartners for them in the UK market;g) To support the internationalization of Brazilian enterprises by providing briefings oninvestment opportunities in the United Kingdom as well as identifying potential partners in theBritish market;h) To contribute to the update and expansion of the British company database of theEmbassy with relevant contact details of state and private organizations with a view tosupporting the aforementioned activities;j) To plan and implement trade promotion activities as well as investment linked to thesports Mega Events that Brazil will be hosting in 2014 and 2016.2. There will be a single remunerated probationary period of three months. The terms ofemployment and social security will be regulated by UK Law.3. The monthly remuneration will be of £2,300 (two thousand and three hundred pounds).Applications:The applications must be submitted in person at the Embassy from 17 th February to 7 th March2014 (Monday to Friday), from 10 am to 12 and from 15 pm to 17 pm, at the following address:Selection Process:14-16 Cockspur StreetLondon SW1Y 5BLThe Embassy will not accept applications made by mail, or after the deadlines as detailedabove. There will be no exchange of correspondence with the candidate during the application phase.No applicant will be able to claim that they were unaware of the details contained in thisannouncement. Conditional applications will not be accepted. Only applications presented with the fullset of documents will be considered.The selection process will be made in three phases: (i) inspection of the documents that weresubmitted followed by CV evaluation; only the selected candidates will be called to attend the secondphase; (ii) written test (Portuguese and English) in which the level of language proficiency will beevaluated (recognition & production: vocabulary, grammatical structures, spelling and punctuation inisolation and/or in text/context) including relevant general knowledge for the role such as details aboutthe economy and institutions in the United Kingdom and Brazil; (iii) a face-to-face interview and oraltest in order to evaluate the English/Portuguese speaking skills of the candidate. The interview will beheld at a date and venue to be announced and the shortlisted candidates will be required to confirm thatthey will attend this phase.The candidates selected for the written test will have to bring their application confirmation andan ID. Candidates are requested to arrive at least 15 minutes earlier to each phase of the selectionprocess.General rules:The application for the vacancy implies that the applicant knows and accepts all of the terms anddeadlines established in this announcement. An applicant that makes a false or inexact statement or thatcannot fulfill the required criteria may have his/her application withdrawn at any time.In case, candidates with equal competence reach the final phase of the selection process,preference will be given to candidates with greater competence in the Portuguese language.


The employment conditions along with social security and tax arrangements that will be offeredto the candidate are those that fully comply with the Law of the United Kingdom. The contractedemployee will be responsible to register with HM Revenue & Customs – Embassy Unit and pay NationalInsurance contributions. In case of dismissal, if that occurs 6 months after the start of employment, theemployee will receive pro-rata notice and holiday leave pay in accordance with UK rules.Final results:The results of the selection process will be published on the Embassy website following theclose of the last phase of selection process.The successful candidate will be called to take their post and will need to present themselves tothe Administration Section of the Embassy on a date to be confirmed to sign the employment contract andstart work.London, 13 th February 2014
