IIIIIIIIIIIJIIIIIHEAVY DUTYCanting HeadMost Router operations are done with the RouterHead vertical. For some classes of work, however,a canting movement on the head can bean advantage. To meet these exceptional cases wecan supply the machine with canting head asillustrated above. The GuardFull protection against flying chips is providedby the guard illustrated. This guard docs notobstruct the normal working of the machine, orrestrict production in any way.The MotorThe motor consists of "A.E.I." Squirrel Cage Rotorand Stator units, which form the most dependabletype of motor in existence. The rotor is practicallyindestructible and is both statically and dynamicallybalanced. It is pressed on the ground spindle. Thestator is thoroughly protected against damage bymoisture by a special impregnated process. Themotor has a low temperature rise which reacts veryfavourably on the life of the high speed bearings.Speeds of 18,000 and 24,000 are obtained by meansof a frequency changer, housed inside the mainframe of the machine.~l==R=O=U=T=E='R=L='S=' ===============.'=:Pneumatic DownfeedThe head movement can be arranged for pneumaticoperation from a convenient pedal and, as shownabove, this can further be controlled by a hydrocheckcylinder with fast approach feature working atany point as the pedal is lifted. This reduces operatorfatigue and also gives more consistent depth control. The Control GearThe control gear is by start and stop push buttonsmounted on the head, controlling a magneticcontactor, built into a dust-tight compartment inthe machine. Protective features to safeguard theelectrical gear against overloads are incorporated. The machine is supplied for two speeds, and ahand-operated speed selector switch is included.www.wadkin.cominfo@wadkin.comFrequency ChangerThe frequency changer is housed inside the mainframe of the machine. It is readily accessible bothfrom the back of the machine and through a hingeddoor in the main frame. It is of the single unit type, and gives the highfrequency necessary to obtain spindle speeds of18,000 and 24,000 r.p.m. from a standard 50 cyclesupply.23
