Students and staff raise money on one of the many stalls in the hall at lunchtimeIVANHOE RAISES OVER £ 1300 FOR CHILDREN INNEEDOn 14 th November 2014, Ivanhoe College raised over £1300 for Children in Need. Studentspaid to come to school in non-uniform and held a number of stalls in the hall at lunchtime.Ivanhoe’s Under 5s alone raised over £90 as children paid to come in pyjamas and broughttheir teddies in for a teddy bears picnic. Food was also collected and donated to the Ashbyfood bank.Children in Need is a UK charity that makes a difference to children’s lives. Since 1980 it hasraised over £600 million to do this.Josh, a Year 8 fundraiser, said “I really enjoyed today and the atmosphere was great. It wasgreat to see so many people enjoying themselves whilst also helping people who are lessfortunate than them.”Mrs. Blewitt, Principal, said “A big thank you to all parents and carers who have offered theirsupport in helping our students raise money, plan their stalls and also for donating items forthe Ashby Food Bank. STUDENTS VISIT LONDONLast week 40 Year 7 Students visited London as part of this year’s London Culture Trip. OnThursday they visited the Harry Potter Studio Tour at the Warner Bros. Studio and got to seemany props and scenes used in the films. Afterwards, they visited the Sealife Centre onLondon’s South Bank. On Friday everybody had a mini tour of London seeing the famousLondon Bridge Ceramic Poppies display, the Houses of Parliament and a scary trip toLondon Dungeons.
