APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONSThese instructions are not intended to show <strong>product</strong> recommendations for specific service. They are issued as an aid in determining correct surfacepreparation, mixing instructions and application procedure. It is assumed that the proper <strong>product</strong> recommendations have been made. Theseinstructions should be followed closely to obtain the maximum service from the materials.SURFACE PREPARATION: Remove oil or grease fromsurface to be coated prior to abrasive blast, power or hand toolcleaning.STEEL: Ensure that the surface is dry and free from allcontaminants. Dry abrasive blast to a Near White Metal Finishin accordance with ISO 8501 Sa 2½ to obtain a 50 - 75 micronblast profile.For mild environments Power Tool Clean in accordance withISO 8501 St 3 to produce a rust-scale free surface.CREVICE FILLING: Remove all embedded contamination suchas dust, dirt, rust, etc. from crevice by means of high pressurewater washing. Sandpaper edges to remove rust and otherforeign materials. Ensure that the surface is dry and free fromdust or any other contaminants.CONCRETE: Do not coat concrete treated with hardeningsolutions unless test patches indicate satisfactory adhesion. Donot apply coating unless concrete has cured at least 28 days at25°C and 50% R.H. or equivalent time.Remove grease, oil, shutter release agents, mould oils andother foreign matter. Remove laitance by abrasive blasting orother means. Remove all dust from surface by vacuum cleaning.MIXING: Mix separately, then combine and mix in the followingproportions :5 l KitCarboguard 165 ZA Part A 3,75 lCarboguard 165 ZA Part B 1,25 lTHINNING: Do not thinPOT LIFE: Two hours at 25°C and less at higher temperatures.Pot life ends when coating becomes too viscous to use.Special application techniques may be required above orbelow normal conditions.APPLICATION:TROWEL: On column bases:Tape the desired application height with 25 mm maskingtape. Apply and spread over the area to be coated.Smooth evenly to follow the contour of the structure bybrushing lightly with mineral spirits.As a crevice filler:Using a trowel, press the material into the crevice to adepth of ± 15 mm. Scrape off excess to produce a flatsurface.
