HomestaysIn a homestay you live in a New Zealand familyhome where you will have a fully-furnished room.Your host will provide breakfast and dinner eachweek day and three meals each day during theweekends. Note that most homestays are notusually located within walking distance of theUniversity campuses and may be a bus rideaway. We use a homestay agency for placements.FlattingShare a house or flat with other students. You areresponsible for paying the rent, electricity, gas,insurance, water, garden maintenance and phonecharges, according to the details in your tenancyagreement. You will need to provide basicfurniture like a bed and a desk.Students with disabilitiesIf you have a disability, we provide specialfacilities at some of the residences such aswheelchair access, specially-fitted bathrooms andfacilities to accommodate guide dogs. Specialfacilities are also available at some of the privateaccommodation providers.Application datesApply online for a place in a University residencefrom 1 August 2012 at www.accommodation.auckland.ac.nz for Semester One 2013 and thefull academic year, and from 1 April 2013 forSemester Two 2013.
