Find the series of tables referring to the individual emitterflow rate type selected (1,41-1,14-0,87-0,64-0,57 l/h).2. From these tables select the desired spacing betweendrippers.3. Within this table select the slope and the required inletpressure. The intersect of these two figures will give themaximum length of the line in meters for an emissionuniformity (EU) of 85% and 90% respectively.Caution:When calculating the recommended maximum length the maximumoperating pressure limits must be respected for the variouswall thicknesses.For example, Aqua-TraXX ® 5 mil must not be considered forpressures over 0,7 bars.Design programsAsk for the software to design your Aqua-TraXX ® system youwill find all the data necessary to optimise the use of the Aqua-TraXX ® .Legend of the design parametersEA = Application EfficiencyEA =q m / q a ;EU = Emission Uniformity (Expressed asa decimal)EU = (1- 1.27 CV/√n ) x EAq m = Minimum flow rateq a = Average flow rate (design rating)CV = Co-efficient of variationn = If the calculation gives 0,7 emitters per plant the value1 will always be inserted in the formula.bar -2% -1% 0 1% 2% 3%85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90%0,5 73 50 98 73 138 110 167 135 175 141 175 1380,6 80 56 104 78 139 110 165 134 175 141 176 1410,7 87 62 108 82 139 111 163 132 173 141 178 1420,8 91 66 104 85 140 111 162 130 173 139 177 1430,9 96 71 115 89 140 111 161 129 173 139 177 1431,0 99 73 117 90 141 112 160 128 171 137 176 142RA5XX1256-yyy30 cmbar -2% -1% 0 1% 2% 3%85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90%0,5 80 53 116 87 180 143 222 179 228 183 222 1680,6 90 61 124 92 180 143 220 177 230 185 227 1840,7 99 69 131 98 181 144 218 175 229 185 230 1840,8 106 74 137 103 181 144 216 174 229 185 232 1850,9 112 80 141 106 182 145 214 172 228 185 232 1871,0 117 85 145 110 183 145 213 171 227 183 232 1871,14 l/h P E R E M I T T E R @ 0,7 barRA5XX04134-yyy10 cmbar -2% -1% 0 1% 2% 3%85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90%0,5 62 44 78 59 101 81 119 96 127 102 129 1040,6 67 49 82 62 102 81 118 94 126 101 129 1040,7 71 52 85 65 102 81 117 93 125 100 129 1040,8 74 55 87 67 103 81 115 93 124 99 128 1030,9 77 58 88 69 103 82 115 92 123 98 127 1031,0 79 60 90 70 103 82 114 91 122 98 126 102RA5XX0867-yyy20 cmbar -2% -1% 0 1% 2% 3%85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90% 85% 90%0,5 77 51 107 79 159 126 195 157 203 163 200 1550,6 86 59 115 85 160 127 193 155 203 163 203 1610,7 93 65 120 90 161 127 191 153 202 163 204 1630,8 99 71 125 94 161 128 189 152 202 162 205 1650,9 104 75 128 98 162 128 188 151 200 161 205 1651,0 109 79 131 101 162 129 186 149 199 160 205 165The above data may vary according to test conditions.* Check AquaFlow program.6I.S.E. ApplicationsOVAL VOval valve from 2” up to 6”V A LV E SOval-Vs are hydraulic valves designed to satisfy all therequirements in agricultural fields. The limited number ofcomponents (only 3: body, diaphragm and cover) and theunique design of its diaphragm (oval) make the Oval-V thesmallest and lightest valve in the market place. Thanks to theunique and patented design of the diaphragm, not only thereis no need of spring but also is there very low value of headloss. Oval-V becomes, then, a practical valve suitable for allagricultural systems also thanks to the complete range ofavailable diameter (from 2” to 6”) and to the accessories thatcan transform it into electro-hydraulic valve, pressure reducingvalve, quick relief valve...Oval VThreadedFlangedØ(inch)L(mm)H(mm)B(mm)Peso(kg)2” 145 93 144 2,83” 220 120 216 6,03”A 176 115 154 3,64” 256 150 270 9,0Ø(inch)L(mm)H(mm)B(mm)Peso(kg)3” 180 200 216 10,54” 190 220 270 12,76” 275 288 425 37,0Code tableIT-OV-2T Oval-V 2” (50 mm) Threaded FBSPIT-OV-3F Oval-V 3” (80 mm) FlangedIT-OV-3T Oval-V 3” (80 mm) Threaded FBSPIT-OV-3TA Oval-V 3x2x3 Threaded FBSPIT-OV-4F Oval-V 4” (100 mm) FlangedIT-OV-4T Oval-V 4” (100 mm) Threaded FBSPIT-OV-6F Oval-V 6” (150 mm) FlangedIT-OV-MKIT 3 way brass manual kitIT-OV-SKIT-NO 3 way NO solenoid 24 VACIT-OV-SKIT-L 3 way latching solenoid 9-12 VDCIT-OV-SKIT-NC Solenoid kit (NL) 24 VACIT-OV-PRKIT*3 Way plastic pressure reducing kit+manualkit (PN10)IT-OV-PSKITIT-OV-MSKIT3 Way plastic pressure sustaining kit+ manual kit (PN10)Kit to integrate manual and solenoid kitIT-OV-QRKIT Quick safety kitIT-OV-2-D Diaphragm valve 2”IT-OV-3-D Diaphragm valve 3”IT-OV-4-D Diaphragm valve 4”IT-OV-6-D Diaphragm valve 6”* there is the possibility to choose different sensitivity of the spring (colour coded)to adjust the pressure regulator to different needs.I.S.E. AIR RELEASE VALVEKinetic, Automatic, Double effectApplicationsValve designed to extract air from pipes, large filters, tanks orany similar equipment which must work without thepresence of air.Kinetic Valve 1” & 2”• At start-up as water enters irrigation system the valveextracts air that is in the system. This stage ends as waterreaches the inside of the valve raising the float and closingthe main discharge outlet.• At system shutdown the valve prevents pipe collapse byallowing atmospheric air into the system to restore theinside of the system to zero pressure.Automatic Valve 2”• Same characteristic of the kinetic valve, with the differencethat during system operation the valve continues to extractair from the system, allowing the income only to the arrestof the system.Kinetic & Automatic Valve 2”• It extracts the air from pipes as they fill. This stage end aswater reaches the inside of the valve raising the float andclosing the main discharge outlet. It exerts continuousautomatic control, eliminating any residual pocket of airthatmight reach the valve, as when this happens, the floatdrops, partially or totally opening the discharge outlet. Itprevents pipe collapse, because pressure decreasing.CodesV A LV E SSpecificationsKineticvalve 1”Kineticvalve 2”AutomaticValveDoubleeffectCode ARV-1-K ARV-2-K ARV-1-A ARV-2-KAWorking pressure (bar) 15,51 15,51 11,7 15,51totally sealed from (bar) 0,2 0,2 0,2 0,2volume of air release in m3/hwithout valve closing and 501 1002 70 1002without the presence of waterRelease air volume @ 0,34 bar(m 3 /h)44 442 5 238ARV-1-KARV-1-AARV-2-KARV-2-KA1" BSP M threaded Kinetic Air / Vacum Release Valve2" BSP M threaded Aut. F E R T I G A T I O NMAZZEI ® INJECTORSPP (polypropylene) or PVDF (kynar) bodyHighly efficient in the injection of liquids and gas by pressuredifference.The Mazzei injectors offer a safe, precise and economicmethod to inject practically any kind of liquid or gas iuta apressurised current.Operation• When a fluid under pressure enters the injector it ischannelled towards the injection chamber, and sharplyincreases speed.This acceleration causes a drop in pressure that allowsanother liquid or gas to be sucked through a special orificeand be mixed with the drive flow.• When the drive flow advances towards the injector {)utlet, itsspeed reduces, creating an increase in pressure (al a lowerlevel than at the injector inlet).The Mazzei injectors require a negligible pressure differencebetween inlet and outlet to create a feed through thesuction orifice.AIV 287-PAIV 287 (Kynar)AIC484AIC 484-XAIC584AIC584-PPGAIC885XAIC885X-PPGAIC1078AIC1078-PPGAIC1583AIC1583-PPGBuilt in non-return valve.Body in polypropylene or Kynar.Connection: I/O 1/2 " M NPTSuction: 4.7 mm socketBuilt in non-return valve.Body in polypropylene or Kynar.Connection: I/O 3/4" M BSPSuction: 1/4" M NPT and 6.3 mm socketPre-assembled non-return valve ACP83.Body in polypropylene or Kynar.Connection: 1 1/2” M BSPSuction: 1/2" M NPT and 9.5 mm socketBuilt in non-return valve.Body In polypropylene or Kynar.Connection: I/O 1" 1/2 MSuction: 1/2" M NPT and 12 mm socket.Advantage• Low investment and installation cost• No extemal power source is required in most installations• Low maintenance costs• Suitable far continuous mixing, without requiringadditional equipment.Why Kynar T M• Because Kynar (PVDF) is more than twice as good asmost other plastic• Strength, pressure (15 bar), chemical & temperatureresistance range are greater• Extremely resistant to most AG chemicals:- Sulfuric acid 90%, good to 100° C(PP, PE., Acetal are not recommended)- Nitric Acid 65%, good to 60° c.(PP, PE. not recommended)(PP, PE. resistant up to 6% at 20° C to 40° C)- Chlorine (PP not resistent)- Xylene, good to 40° C (PP, PE, PVC. not resistant).AIC2081-XAIC2081-PPGAIC4090Pre-assembled non-return valve ACP86.Body in Kynar or polypropilene (Kynarmodel) and C75 (PP model).Connection: I/O 2" M BSPSuction: 1/2" M NPT and 12 mm socketBuilt in non-return valve.Body in Kynar.Connection: I/O 4" M BSPSuction (two): 2" M BSPCodes ending “-p” or “-ppg” are made of polypropylene48I.S.E. Data required for selectinginjectorsTo select the most suitable injector model the followingdata is required:1.Total water flow rate of the system ............ (l/min)2.Desired fertiliser/chemical productinjection flow rate............ (l/min)3.Pressure differential "d" available inthe system, calculated as follows:a. maximum working pressure ofsystem, at injector inlet............ barb. minimum working pressure ofsystem, at injector outlet............ barc. difference between pressures"a" and "b"............ barPercentage pressure differential"d" = (c/a) x 100 ............ %If "d" is equal or more than 20%, theBy Pass installation method can be used (seediagram l+2)If "d" is less than 20% then the injectorshave to be installed in series with anauxiliary pump (see diagrams)Selecting the right modeIFollowing the example given above, proceed as follows:• Find the pressure column with "a" = 5.5 bar.• Move to the right until "b" = 4 bar• Move to the right along the line to the suction capacitycolumn, continue right until the nearest value to thedesired suction capacity is found (using the example,341/h). We will select 30 "!/h. the top of this columnshows the code of the model to use, in this case AIC584.Model AIC584 will be capable of sucking 30 I/h only if the bypassis guaranteed a flow rate of 28 Vmin as indicated in the"Injector flow rate".If, in practise, the injector does not really bave this flow rate,the suction capacity will not meet the data given.Assembly diagram1 Microtube2 Metering valve (optional)3 StrainerF E R T I G A T I O NExample: 1=250 l/min; 2=341 l/h; a= 5.5 bar; b= 4 bar;c= 1.5 bar. F E R T I G A T I O NMAZZEI ® AIRJECTION ®Mazzei AirJection IrrigationA Proven Method of Increasing Crop Production inSubsurface Drip Applications• AvaiIable in seven models 1/2", two models 3/4" (serieRainbow), one 2" and one 3"• 10% + increase in yieIds as compared to conventionaldrip*• 50% increase in root mass - healthy and more vitai plant• Less stress on plant as the plant is able to absorb water,air and soil nutrients simuItaneously during the irrigationcycle• May hasten maturity in the plant allowing harvest to comeearlier• Ease of operation• Added benefits far organic growers* lncrease in yields based on results obtained from commercial farmingand study performed by ClT at CSU FresnoWhy AirJectionAside from soil, two basic ingredients necessary to rootsystems in farming are air and water.Mazzei AirJection Irrigation improves aerobic activity in thesoil and increases root respiration. Inadequate soil aerationreduces the rate of water and mineral absorption by theroots. Saturated soils will trap metabolites, ethylene andcarbon dioxide in the root zone, concentrations of which canseriously affect the rate of growth and size of the plant.Oxygen is also necessary for the survival of beneficial soilmicro-organisms that aid in improving soil physicalproperties and processes such as nitrification andammonification. Clay soils by nature are depleted of oxygenmore rapidly than soils high in sand content. MazzeiAirJection Irrigation provides needed oxygen directly to theroot zone during irrigation. The Mazzei AirJection Irrigationunit is calibrated to deliver the proper air to water ratio.Mazzei AirJection Irrigation is designed to work in subsurfacedrip irrigation (SSDI) applications. To ensure uniformdistribution of the air, the unit is typically installed at the driptape or dripper line sub main and will function as a pressurereducer.Selection & calibration guidelinesfor 2” and 3” modelsMazzei Airjection2” Model MAI-2081 3” Model MAI-3090(337 to 697 lpm) (795 to 1416 lpm)Inlet Bypass Water Orifice Inlet Bypass Water Orificepressure valve Flow Plate # pressure valve Flow Plate #Kg/cm 2 position (lpm) Kg/cm 2 position (lpm)(Turns open)(Turns open)2,11 0 337 107 2,11 0 795 1512 401 125 2 886 1514 439 125 4 958 1726 466 125 6 1033 1828 1056 1822,81 0 386 107 2,81 0 931 1512 469 107 2 1015 1514 530 125 4 1147 1726 568 125 6 1189 1828 1196 1823,52 0 432 107 3,52 0 996 1512 511 107 2 1094 1724 598 125 4 1230 1826 647 125 6 1314 1828 1321 1824,22 0 458 107 4,22 0 1086 1512 575 107 2 1181 1724 670 125 4 1340 1826 697 125 6 1412 1828 1416 182Bypass Valve at 0 turns is completely CLOSEDBypass Valve at 6 or 8 turns is completely OPENEDThe Orifice Plate should be installed with the numbers facing up.The smooth side should be down on the gasket.Care should be taken to ensure the Orifice Plate is centered on the gasket.Airjection Rainbow installation (1/2” and 3/4”)52I.S.E.
