Duties include getting the information to thenewspapers, radio stations, posting info on rummage sale websites,sending flyers to local churches and businesses in thearea and to assist in putting up and taking down the “thriftsales” signs around the area.If you can help with this or have any questions call Marie at262 252-4537.Fields of Hope & Dreams Community GardensThe snow has melted from the raised beds of our two gardens.Warmer temperatures and sunny days continue to warmthe soil and we’ll continue to monitor soil temperatures to readyourselves for spring planting. “Spring Planting” - doesn’t thatsound inviting?Our volunteer gardeners have started seedlings in their basements,garages and other indoor spaces under lights to transplantinto our gardens and sell at our May 18 th/ 19 th PlantSale. They’re also getting antsy to begin outside work. We’vealready developed a plan for this year’s gardens and have beenmeeting to prepare for the Plant Sale. You might swallow it, inhale it, inject it orabsorb it through your skin. The dangers ofpoisoning range from short-term illness to braindamage, coma or death.To prevent poisoning it is important to use and store productsexactly as their labels say. Keep dangerous products whereAlzheimer’s patients, children and pets can’t get to them. Treatmentfor poisoning depends on the type of poison.If you suspect someone has been poisoned, call your local poisoncontrol center right away. If you suspect poisoning, immediatelytake these steps:1. Determine what was swallowed, how much, and at whattime.2. Check the person’s airway. (Are there signs of breathing,coughing, moving?)3. Contact the nearest Poison Control Center or call 911 fortreatment; have the container of the suspected poison athand.4. Follow up with the doctor.5. Ben’s Meal Program has a small “beauty salon”where he has had volunteer hairdressers willing to be of serviceto the people who come to share a meal at <strong>St</strong>. Ben’s. BrotherDave no longer has his 2 hairdressers and has asked if there isanyone from our faith community who would be willing to helpout by donating their haircutting talents to our homeless brothersand sisters. We can all relate to the joy and confidence a newhaircut gives us, hopefully we can share that feeling.
