Reading and writing are important tools foraccessing <strong>the</strong> whole curriculum. Although Englishwill be integrated with <strong>the</strong> inquiry unit we will stillteach certain aspects discretely.


Home ReadingThe aim of Home Reading at BHS is to provide an opportunity to practise essential reading skills.We believe that success in reading results from partnerships between students, parents andteachers. The Home Reading Programme has been carefully devised to enable students tosucceed in reading.• The Home Reading Diary• Target Setting• The Process• Frequency of changingAs with o<strong>the</strong>r home learning tasks, teachers keep records of <strong>the</strong> frequency of your child’s borrowing.
