4 June 2007Aberdeen Announces New Investment Teams Post Deutsche AcquisitionAcquisition of certain Australian fund management businesses of Deutsche BankAberdeen Asset Management Limited (“Aberdeen”) is pleased to announce that it has completed theacquisition of certain Australian fund management businesses from Deutsche Australia Limited andthat the transfer of the businesses is effective at close of business 1 June 2007.Aberdeen has paid initial consideration of A$116 million, based on estimated assets undermanagement of A$11.5 billion transferring to Aberdeen’s management. These assets comprise A$8.5billion of segregated mandates and A$3 billion in managed investment schemes. The considerationremains subject to certain adjustments to be reflected once the value of assets under management hasbeen confirmed.Investment TeamsOn the fixed income side of the business, and as previously announced, Deutsche’s seven strong fixedincome team, led by Bill Bovingdon, will be joining Aberdeen’s existing team of three. Bill willassume the role of Head of Australian Fixed Income at Aberdeen, reporting to Steve Ilott, GlobalHead of Fixed Income.Bill Bovingdon, Head of Australian Fixed Income at Aberdeen, said:“This move reunites the team with fixed income colleagues in London, Philadelphia and our officesin Asia. He has spent over 20years with Aberdeen, much of that as a UK equity manager. Mark was a fund manager with RichardsLongstaff, a business that Aberdeen acquired in 1990.
