The ambulance service team consistsof Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Paramedicswith advanced life saving and critical care skills serving the30,000 square mile Ravalli County service area. If emergencytransport is needed, the <strong>Marcus</strong> <strong>Daly</strong> Ambulance Servicehas ambulances located throughout Ravalli County in Darby,Hamilton, Victor and Stevensville to make response time asquick as possible when critical care is necessary. If you have amedical emergency and cannot get to the Emergency Department,call 911 immediately.The EMS Team is ready to serve at a moment’s notice. Theyare comprised of dedicated and caring Paramedics and Basiclevel team members. With high level staffing and qualityequipment, the staff is ready to serve their most challengingpatients. In addition, they are in constant communicationwith the Emergency physicians and support team to ensurethe patient is provided appropriate care during transportationand upon arrival. The result is better patient outcomes.At <strong>Marcus</strong> <strong>Daly</strong> <strong>Memorial</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong> we find the EMS staffto be very community minded, committed to the field ofemergency medicine, and focused on career growth. Thehospital offers many healthcare provider classes, includingAdvanced Paramedic training. Students from WesternMontana and our local hospital participate in this 2-yearcourse. The EMT’s in this course tend to work full-time andhave families. “This is no easy task”, stated Gina Tan. “I havebeen involved in EMS since 2001 and love it. My future goalsare to continue to advance my skill level and abilities as aParamedic, and once I have mastered them, advance to CriticalCare Paramedic level. EMS is my passion, helping peoplewhen they need it is the most rewarding experience for me.”Frank McHugh, MD & Jennifer Bush, RNThe Paramedic class graduated 16 Paramedics, and Gina Tan,EMT-P, is one of the four at <strong>Marcus</strong> <strong>Daly</strong> <strong>Memorial</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong>.Mason, Michele, and Dylan have been working as BasicEMT’s at <strong>Marcus</strong> <strong>Daly</strong> <strong>Memorial</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong> collectively forover seven years.
