According to historical records,<strong>Volusia</strong> <strong>County</strong> experiences, on average, more than one (1.2) confirmed tornado events annually. Whilethe majority of these events are small in terms of size, intensity and duration, a greater number ofstronger storms (i.e., F2 and F3 tornadoes) have been reported in the past decade. Further, even aminor tornado can cause substantial damage.
