The awards are <strong>issue</strong>dconsecutively for continuedexceptional service, and aminimum of three years mustpass before a recipient is eligiblefor the next, higher grade.Its design is clearly based on that ofthe old Tűzkereszt (Fire Cross), andon the arms of the cross, the mottoPro Custodia - Tumulorum - Militumis inscribed.The old Frontline Fighters’Association insignia (see detail below)can still be seen on this tombstone inBudapest’s Farkasréti Cemetery.12
