Theprocess is also less sensitive to hard water. Bright ZincZINCASLOT ZA 1020 is suitable for both barrel- andrack application. Excellent metal distribution a highbrightness degree of the deposited layers as well asgood results in chromating and passivating are thefeatures of this electrolyte. It offers a wide operatingrange with regard to the applicable current density.SLOTANIT OT 1010Concentrations and operating conditionsRangeZinc g/l 25 - 45Chloride g/l 125 - 180Boric acid g/l 20 - 28pH range 5,0 - 5,4Operating temperature °C 20 - 45Cathodic current density A/dm 2 0,5 - 4,0Bright Zinc SLOTANIT OT 1010 is a weak acidic electrolytefor both rack- and barrel parts. High brillianceat excellent bright throwing power and perfect ductilityof the bright zinc coatings in combination withgood chromating and passivating are the remarkablefeatures of this process. The interfering cloud pointalso at a high salt content isn’t to be expected, soelectrolyte temperatures of up to 45 °C especially atbarrel application are indeed practicable without adecrease in the degree of brightness. Independent ofthis fact we recommend to maintain a operatingtemperature of < 35 °C for rack parts in order tomake use of the better degree of brightness and thebetter throwing power.

SLOTANIT OT 1Bright Zinc SLOTANIT OT 1 is a weak acidic bright zincelectrolyte for both rack- and barrel parts. High brillianceas well as a simple electrolyte operation, robustness and high stability are the remarkable featuresof this process proven over a number of years.Even at a high salt content no interfering cloud pointwill occur so electrolyte temperatures of approx. 50°C especially at barrel application are indeed practicable. At electrolyte temperatures > 35 °C a slightdecrease of the brightness especially at rack partsbecomes visible without a considerably impairedthrowing power of the electrolyte. Due to wastewatertechnical aspects the electrolyte is usuallyoperated ammonium-free. However, the use ofammonium salts is allowed.Concentrations and operating conditionsRangeZinc g/l 30 - 45Chloride g/l 125 - 180Boric acid g/l 20 - 25Ammonium g/l 0 - 10pH range 4,8 - 5,4Operating temperature °C 20 - 40Cathodic current density A/dm 2 1,0 - 4,0SLOTANIT OT 60 1Concentrations and operating conditionsRangeZinc g/l 30 - 45Chloride g/l 125 - 180Boric acid g/l 20 - 25Ammonium g/l 0 - 10pH range 4,8 - 5,4Operating temperature °C 20 - 60Cathodic current density A/dm 2 0,2 - 1,5Compared with conventional bright zinc processesBright Zinc SLOTANIT OT 60 1 shows a higher tolerancetowards high temperatures. Up to 60 °C in barrelapplication there is neither a decrease in brightnessnor an excessive consumption of additives. ThereforeBright Zinc SLOTANIT OT 60 1 is first choice for barrelapplication with a high electrolyte load. Dependingon metal concentration, chloride content and electrolytetemperature, SLOTANIT OT 60 1 can be operatedwith a high current load.SLOTOCYN 10Concentrations and operating conditionsRangeZinc g/l 12 - 24Sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) g/l 60 - 90Sodium cyanide g/l 25 - 55Operating temperature °C 20 - 35Cathodic current density A/dm 2 max. 4,0Easy operation, excellent stability and high applicablecathodic current densities are the featuresof Bright Zinc SLOTOCYN 10. Its coatings are alsoat a slightly higher operating temperature over awide current density range bright and show goodchromating behaviour. Bright Zinc SLOTOCYN 10 canbe operated in both rack- and barrel installationswith either high and low cyanide level, depending onthe zinc concentration in the electrolyte.
