Winter 2012
The familys winter paradise

For children of all ages
2

Deep down, we’re all a little young at heart. At
least when it comes to skiing. We’re all keen to
experiment and discover. Isaberg offers attractive
downhill skiing for all, with gentle slopes for
children and beginners as well as more demanding
runs for those in search of a challenge.
Most people come to Isaberg for the skiing, which is
understandable. Southern Sweden’s largest winter
sport resort, Isaberg also has the greatest drop height.
In addition, snow is always guaranteed. Our fully automatic
snow cannon system provides efficient snow
production. And if that wasn’t enough, Isaberg is the
first Scandinavian resort to operate a satellite navigation
system in its piste caterpillars, also used to measure the
snow depth on the slopes, to help increase safety. In combination
with a lighting system in operation across every
slope, this enables us to offer a long season, stretching
from mid-December up to and including March, as a rule.
3

From green
to black
In total, Isaberg can offer over 6 km of prepared
ski runs, while at 150 meters, we boast the greatest
fall height of any southern Swedish resort.
The resort operates eight lifts to transport skiers
up our slopes. Equipped with two chairlifts, our
lift system provides extensive capacity – a sixseater
express lift takes skiers from the valley all
the way up to the peak.
and similar activities are forbidden on the pistes at all times.
Our operations comply fully with the Municipality of Gislaved’s ordinances.
Close to everything!
Isaberg is best-known for having everything close at hand. Offering both rental and equipment
for purchase, the Roupéz ski shop is located at the centre of the resort. You can put on your skis
or board right outside the door! Neighbouring the shop are the warming hut and a large restaurant,
serving everything from coffee or tea to a proper dinner. The perfect setting to recharge your
energy levels ahead of a full day on the slopes. At the foot of Isaberg you’ll find our campsite,
open during the winter, with the main resort – with restaurant, bar, conference facilities and
72-lodge holiday complex – in close proximity.
5

Slopes for the kids
We operate a dedicated skiing area for children and beginners, featuring
two gentle runs with a simple lift system, located nearby warming huts and
service facilities. In this area, you can ski freely without being concerned
about fast skiers who don’t know how to brake. The perfect setting to learn
the basics without distraction – either on your own, or through group or
private tuition from one of our ski instructors.
Beside the beginners’ area, there is also a sledging run intended for our
younger visitors who haven’t begun to ski yet – or just want to take a break.
More to do
at Isaberg
Stay for more than just the day, and you’ll soon discover that Isaberg offers much more
than downhill skiing. You can go cross country skiing, try a spot of ice fishing or even go
skating on natural ice. All of our activities are gathered around Isabergstoppen, just a
stone’s throw from each other.
Cross-country sking
Isaberg has a total of 18.5 kilometres of cross-country trails on natural snow. In Hestra there
are a further 10 kilometres of cross-country trails. The area in and around Isaberg offers
picturesque views and a combination of easy and more challenging terrain. If you don’t
have your own skis you can rent them from the shop, prices see page 16.
Winter fishing
On the lakes around Isaberg you can try your luck at fishing through ice holes for perch
and burbot. Fishing permits are sold at reception, which also sells maps and fishing tackle.
Ice skating
When weather permits, an ice rink is cleared on the frozen lake Algutstorpasjön, just a
stone’s throw from the central complex.
Play areas open throughout winter
The play areas are open at Isaberg all year round. There are also special slopes for sledding.
