The Sacrament of Baptism is normally celebrated on the
second Sunday of each month. A Parent Preparation Program
is required for first time parents. New parents

A message from our Pastor:
Dear Parishioners,
We have come to the end of another successful
year of our Religious Education program. I want to
take a moment to thank publicly Ms. Catherine
Drake, our Director, Mrs. Joanne Landeck, her
indefatigable assistant, and our legions of
tremendously dedicated and talented volunteer
catechists for all their hard work and perseverance.
This can be a very challenging, yet extremely
rewarding, ministry and I know that God blesses in
a very special way all those who “Go and teach all
nations.” I also remind all parents that information
on registration or re-registration will be coming out
very shortly for next year’s classes. For further
information, or if you would like to share your faith
and talents as a catechist, contact the Religious
Education Office.
Please remember to set aside the evenings
of May 17-25 for our traditional Novena to the
Holy Spirit. This powerful prayer began here
three years ago and has grown into something we
all look forward to. This year we have a number of
wonderful guest preachers who will be joining us
to share their insight and talents, and I know that
you will want to hear what they have to say. More
information can be found on page 6 of this bulletin.
Now is also the time to reserve your
Wednesday evenings from May 30 to June 27. As I
already announced, we will continue our adult
education program with a study of the history of
the church. I will be presenting this series and I
promise that there will be no fees, tests or
homework. We will begin with the Roman Empire
and continue to our own time, stopping off a the
Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Reformation
and a brief look at our Eastern Catholic family
along the way. We have a lot of fun, learn quite a
bit and deepen our understanding of the faith, and
share some very good refreshments, all in a very
stress-free environment. No pre-registration is
required, just show up and prepare to have a good
time.

5th! May this special and memorable day with

On Wednesday morning, May 9th,
our 8 th grade class will be on their
way to the Rocking Horse Dude
Ranch! Let’s all pray for great
weather and a safe trip for our
soon-to-be graduating students!
Our Library Guild will be sponsoring
their annual Plant Sale on Thursday,
May 10th.
There will be a nice variety to
choose from, and the children love
picking out the pretty blooms for
their “mums!” A flyer will be going
home with all students this week
with more details!
We expect a fun day for the whole school on Friday, May
11th, when our annual Red & White Day will be held at the
Costa del Sol Restaurant from 9AM–2PM! This is an
exciting field trip for the students complete with food, games,
and lots of FUN!
Along with the Labels for Education and Box Top$ for
Education programs, Holy Spirit School also participates in
an additional fundraiser from Tyson products. Clipping these
labels is a great way to get FREE merchandise for Holy Spirit
School! Many companies now participate in these
programs, so by saving the labels with the UPC bar code, and
clipping the Box Tops for Education symbol and Tyson
labels from these products, you are helping Holy Spirit
School! Collection boxes for these labels are located on the
tables inside the entrances of our Church and School.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is “a
gradual process that takes place within the community
of the faithful.” The length of time of the process varies
according to individual need, experience, readiness
and commitment. If you, or someone you know is

Church, or a Catholic needing to complete your
Sacraments of Initiation (Eucharist or Confirmation), It
is a time set aside for asking questions and exploring
God’s call in an informal setting. There are no

The Novena To The Holy Spirit

gifts of the Holy Spirit to be poured out in our lives, the
