For example, you may want to develop yourfunctional skills at entry level even if you are alreadytaking level 1 vocational or subject qualifications sothat you have a sound foundation of essential skills• Foundation Learning helps you work at your ownpace, and to build up your skills in a range of differentsettings• If you are working at entry level and level 1Foundation Learning will help you progress and makethe most of your potential• You may qualify for financial help after 16 through theEducation Maintenance Allowance.Where will Foundation Learning lead?• You may progress onto an Apprenticeship, GCSEs, theDiploma or a vocational qualification.• Some young people will move onto employment,supported employment or independent living.
