I think this member’s Forum post explains why:“Had an opportunity to discuss TAXI with a few people at [another] a music related conference. I used the line that I have seen Michael write, "The Rally alone isworth the price of the TAXI Membership."I’m not going to bash any other conferences for musicians. There are things that can be learned from any class/conference. However, I will say that [the other]conference was a biggie, and I now have an even greater appreciation for the Road Rally.The TAXI Road Rally:Is very organized.Has classes that start on time.Has popular classes scheduled throughout the day. (Not three at one time slot)Has time to change classes without rushing only to get a seat in the back.Has classes that present skills and information with minimal focus on the presenters’ product or sales pitches.Has a much better environment for networking, collaboration and performing.$300 for [first year TAXI membership, which includes TWO FREE tickets to the Road Rally] is less than the cost of 1 ticket to some industry conferences. I'msure every conference has room for improvement, but TAXI is doing a lot of things right.Whether or not the guys [I spoke to] will join, I have no idea. But if you are already a TAXI member and you don’t take advantage of the Rally, you are missingout.
