<strong>Peru</strong> <strong>Tribune</strong>, The (IN) - Thursday, December 29, <strong>2011</strong>Dianna Lee (Stout) Eckelbarger, 68, of <strong>Peru</strong>, died at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday Dec. 25, <strong>2011</strong> at herresidence. She had been in the hospital after having stroke and had been released a few days prior to herdeath. She was born on Sept. 1, 1943 to Charles E. and Anna M. Stout. Dianna graduated from Clay HighSchool in 1961 and was married to Max Dale Eckelbarger on Nov. 5, 1961 by Rev. Luke Martin at theformer North Grove Brethren Church. Max currently resides at Miller's Merry Manor in <strong>Peru</strong>, Indiana.Max and Dianna lived in <strong>Peru</strong> and owned Buck's Bait, a family business. They purchased Buck's Bait in1967. Buck's Bait was a successful wholesale and retail business for many years that serviced bait shopsall over Indiana. She and her husband for many years planted a large garden, to which she frozenumerous vegetables and fruits and was able to share their fresh produce with many people. She loved to sew and knit and hadseveral sewing and knitting machines. It was very important to her that all the girls in the family had a sewing machine to learnto sew and was able to purchase a machine for each of them. She enjoyed taking long walks and cooking for her husband. Sheloved her church family at Miami Wesleyan Church where her sister and brother-in-law are Pastors. She is survived by herhusband Max Dale Eckelbarger and her four sons, Arman Eckelbarger who is married to Kim residing in Trinity, Florida. Theyhave two children, Brant and Karman. Alan Eckelbarger married to Joyce residing in Logansport, Indiana, who have threechildren, Anthony married to Shawna Cozzello, Jessica married to Leevi Burnett, and Braxton Eckelbarger. They have threegrandchildren, Aspen and Jakin Cozzello and Aiden Burnett. Shawn Eckelbarger married to Wendy residing in Spencerville,Indiana, have one child, Max Eckelbarger. Wyman Eckelbarger married to Georgia residing in Noblesville, Indiana. They havefour children, Julia, Rachel, Grace, and Luke Eckelbarger. She is also survived by one daughter, Arlene Burnette married toCalvin residing in Florida who is the mother of two daughters, Erica married to John Ulerick and Shai Lynn Masters. Diannais survived by four sisters and three brothers, Nora Neal, Charles J. Stout, Marjorie Meyers, Mary Lamb married to PastorMarvin Lamb, Kay married to Steve McKee, Richard married to Wanda Stout and David married to Connie Stout. Viewingwill be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, <strong>2011</strong> from 9 to 11 a.m. at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, <strong>Peru</strong>, Indiana. Funeral Serviceswill be at the funeral home immediately following the viewing. Officiating the service will be her brother-in-law, PastorMarvin Lamb of Miami Wesleyan Church. Burial will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park on 8315 Logansport Road, locatedbetween Logansport and <strong>Peru</strong>. Memorial contributions can be made to the Gideon Bible Association or Miami WesleyanChurch, 1820 W. Walnut St., Miami, Indiana.<strong>Peru</strong> <strong>Tribune</strong>, The (IN) - Thursday, December 29, <strong>2011</strong>James Mitchell "Butch" Martin III, 64, of <strong>Peru</strong>, passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 25,<strong>2011</strong> at his residence. He was born March 1, 1947 to James Mitchell Martin II and Cona (Hyde)Martin, both deceased. Butch was retired from Labor Union #274, and was a member of theWabash VFW and Eagles. Survivors include a son, Kevin Martin of <strong>Peru</strong>; daughters Angelia(Bruce) Runions of <strong>Peru</strong>, and Veronica Martin of Texas; brothers Rodney Martin of Huntington,Kenny Martin of Huntington, and Dennis Martin of <strong>Peru</strong>; sisters Becky McKinney of <strong>Peru</strong>, andVickey Watts, also of <strong>Peru</strong>. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by both parents, a daughter, Lisa Martin, one grandson, and one brother.A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, <strong>2011</strong> at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Shewas born April 22, 1915 in Miami County to Charles and Eva (Schroll) Confer. They both precededher in death. Esther married Kenneth W. Shipman of Bremen, Ill. on July 4, 1935 and he preceded herin death on Dec. 28, 1958. She loved the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers. Survivors includea son, Kenneth D. Shipman and wife Chen of <strong>Peru</strong>; son Stephen R. Shipman and wife Mary, Onward;daughter Karen S. Sorrill of <strong>Peru</strong>; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and five great-greatgrandchildren; also two very good friends and neighbors, Adred and Lexine Hicks. She was precededin death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Herman and Herbert Confer; a sister, Ruby(Confer) Pugh; her daughter, Sheila Gordon; and one grandson, Jeffrey Shipman. There will be novisitation. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, <strong>2011</strong> at Greenlawn Cemetery,Mexico.
