He wasborn in <strong>Peru</strong> on Aug. 6, 1930, to the late William “Bill” Sr. and Gladys (Shrock) Hochstedler. He married ImogeneHochstedler, and she survives. Bill’s love for farming lasted until 1974. Due to his health, he had to retire from the farm andwork for Don Welton Mobile Homes in Kokomo; from there, he worked for First Farmer’s Bank in Converse for 18 years. Healso served as a school crossing guard. He loved to watch I.U. basketball and Chicago Cubs baseball. He most enjoyed goingto Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, fishing for walleye with his family. He was an avid deer hunter. Bill attended ChristianPilgrim Church, <strong>Peru</strong>.
