“You are trustedwith responsiblyearly on in yourcareer and workclosely withPartners andclients alike. I feelmore exposed tothe people at thecore of the projectand think myexperience is allthe better for it”Leigh“The culture at RSM Farrell GrantSparks is dynamic, hardworking andvery supportive”SineadNiall Cribben, Insolvency ManagerI joined the audit, advisory & assurance department of RSM Farrell Grant Sparks at the Dublin office in 2005 afterstudying business management at DIT. From my first day, I was assigned to an Audit Senior until I was fully trainedwhich was very reassuring. As an auditor, I was responsible for examining company accounts, collecting andinterpreting figures, identifying any problems or risks to the business, assessing thecompany’s financial reporting systems, establishing good working relationships withclients and making recommendations for improvements.Finding the right balance between work and home life can be difficult at first, but itgets easier with time. One of the main advantages I found working with the Audit,Advisory & Assurance department was working with different companies every week.I acquired a vast diversity of experience which has been invaluable in terms of careerdevelopment. In May 2010, I joined the Restructuring & Insolvency department. Learning all theinsolvency procedures and regulations as well as assignments that RSM Farrell GrantSparks were working on was a steep learning curve. However, with the help andguidance of the partners, directors and managers, I quickly began handling my ownassignments. I have since been promoted to the position of Insolvency Manager.“I have had the opportunity to work inboth the Audit and Tax departments sinceI joined. This has afforded me a variety ofdifferent jobs at an early stage”Brian6 7
