Included in the program is material on increasing the capacity of power plant motors and information on turbine generatorrewinding practices. Industry standards (including IEEE, NEMA, and API), insulation materials, processes, coil design and coilmanufacturing, stator cores and core testing, rotors, and bearings are all discussed. There is material on motor testing, VPI resins, and tieredmotor maintenance. Information is also presented on purchasing new motors. The seminar is held at the facilities of TECO-WestinghouseMotor Company in Round Rock, TX. He has spent over 50 years in motor repair, electric utility, andother industries. He is a Fellow of the IEEE.Jim Michalec has 39 years of experience in the electric utility industry. His primary experience is with electrical rotating machinery, buthe also has extensive experience with the design, application, operation, repair, and specification of synchronous generators and inductionmotors. He is a Fellow of the IEEE.Elton Floyd has 48 years of experience in the electric utility industry. His primary experience is with electrical rotating machineryparticularly with generators and electrical auxiliaries. He has also had responsibility for technical support for other major power plantelectrical and electronic equipment. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.Mike Howell has 16 years of experience working with stator windings for large rotating electrical machines doing machine redesigns,insulation system development, accelerated life testing, manufacturing support, tool and gauge design, failure analysis, quality engineeringand diagnostic testing.
