Wall spacers 6 - EckMiddle ground between square-cut and roundBetween the square and the circle, there are innumerable polygons as intermediate forms. With its clear-cutsymmetry, the hexagon Is certainly the most attractive variant. Almost round, but still with a recognizablestructure of angles and edges, it is a basic element in the design of windows, tiles and mosaics in manydifferent cultures. We have used this basic form for the design of our wall spacer. It is manufactured from highgloss,chrome-plated brass to fit plate thicknesses between 1 and 10 mm. This material specially enhancesthe impression of premium quality, thus underlining this article’s prominent place in our product range.10Flangeless wall spacersArticle No. Measure ( ) Distance from wall (WD) Plate thickness (PT) Plate drilling Head shape Material0126.306 15 18.5 1-10 mm 8.5 rounded BR, pol, chrFlanged wall spacersArticle No. Measure ( ) Distance from wall (WD) Plate thickness (PT) Plate drilling Head shape Material0127.306 15 18.5 3-10 mm 10 rounded BR, pol, chrAll dimensions in mm . For a long service lifeMaintenance instructions for our materials:Our signboard mounting systems are continuously used articles requiring a certain amount of upkeep. Whether used indoors ouroutdoors, they are susceptible to abrasion, weathering and air pollution. This applies particularly to coastal areas, forest areas and regionswith chemical pollution (industrial areas, chlorinated swimming pools etc.). Metals invariably oxidise sooner or later. Many consumersfind this attractive, others consider it undesirable. However, warranty against oxidation must be excluded.42Stainless steel, untreatedStainless steel, polishedStainless steel (untreated/polished)Stainless steel is a high-grade material. Fastening systems made from this material are easy to clean, robustand extremely durable. All our stainless steel parts are manufactured with great care. The steel tools used in the manufacturingprocess leave minute iron particles on the surface as a result of normal wear. These are removed as part ofthe finishing process. However, a few particularly tenacious iron particles may occasionally be left behind. Thismay cause a thin rust film on outdoor surfaces, which can be easily brushed off with a stainless steel brush orrubbed off with a soft cloth. This will not cause any damage to the stainless steel parts themselves. As applies to all high-grade materials, parts made from stainless steel should be cleaned at regular intervals. The length of the cleaning intervals depends on the degree of soiling and on the user’s personal preference.Generally, regular cleaning with water and soft soap and subsequent treatment with Vaseline is sufficient. However, standard detergents for stainless steel can also be used. In case of heavy tarnishing, use a steelpolishing paste combined with fine steel wool. Abrasive detergents, chromium, silver and brass care productsare unsuitable.Brass, nickel-platedBrassBrass is a copper-zinc alloy. Untreated brass gradually loses its lustre through oxidation. Particularly in outdoorareas, this happens relatively fast. This process is welcomed in older buildings and restored buildings. Wherethe lustre of uncoated brass is to be preserved, it must be regularly renewed with an effective copper cleansingagent. In cases of heavy, in-depth oxidation, the material must first be polished. Then a layer of colourless waxor acid-free Vaseline can be applied for protection.Brass, polished andnickel-platedLacquered brass/zapon-varnishedBrass can be protected against oxidation by a coat of transparent lacquer. The quality of the lacquer determinesthe durability of the protection. To clean lacquered brass, the coat of lacquer must first be removed. Then it istreated like unlacquered brass, and finally a new coat of lacquer is applied.Brass, polished andchrome-platedChrome, matt-finished chrome, nickel, stainless steel finish.Such objects generally consist of brass with surface treatment, which is first polished and then nickel orchrome-plated. The layer of secondary metal is not protected by any additional coat of lacquer. Thereforeno warranty can be given for outdoor applications. Maintenance includes cleaning at regular intervals andoccasional treatment with wax or acid-free Vaseline. Repair of damaged parts is not possible.Simply polish all chrome, matt-finished chrome, nickel and matt-finished nickel surfaces with a soft cloth. Forcleaning, use a damp cloth with a dishwashing detergent, rinse with clear water and then wipe the surface dry, without using abrasives. Deposits of calcium on chrome surfaces are easily removed with vinegar essence.Brass, matt-finished andchrome-platedStainless steel finishAnodised aluminiumMost of us are familiar with aluminium as foil. But this light metal can do much more. Apart from its light weightand imperviousness to the effects of air and water, aluminium stands out by its durability. Artificial treatment ofits surface (anodising) improves the optical appearance of this material and increases its corrosion-resistanceeven further. Aluminium parts can be left outside all year round without any problems.Soiled aluminium should be cleaned with a damp cloth and then polished with a dry cloth. That is all. To removeextremely heavy soiling, we recommend the use of special aluminium cleaning agents or aluminium wax.Anodised aluminiumIn the case of objects located in coastal areas or in an aggressive, polluted environment, all materials should be treatedwith special care as described above. Each material and each object has its own specific function and therefore alsoneeds individual care. Due to variations in general conditions, environment and wear in practical use, our maintenanceinstructions can only be seen as general recommendations and advice. Any warranty or liability claims based on theserecommendations must be excluded.
