Ambulance ExecutiveThe Chief Executive and the executive management team are accountable for thedevelopment of a dynamic organisation and a professional workforce. Previous positions includea range of clinical and managerialroles in nursing, head of investigationswithin the Health Care ComplaintsCommission, policy implementationroles with the central office of NSWHealth and Chief Executive Officer ofthe Far West Area Health Service.Mike Willis ASMBHSc, EMPA, MACAPGeneral Manager, OperationsHES Level 3Mike was appointed General Manager,Operations in June 2005. Mike waspreviously Director, OperationalServices and Director, MetropolitanAmbulance Services. A careerambulance officer for over 25 years,Mike has been stationed at variouslocations in NSW. Trained as anIntensive Care Paramedic in 1986, hemaintained his high clinical profile inmetropolitan Sydney. Following fouryears as Executive Staff Officer hewas appointed as Sector Manager,Wentworth, Western and SouthWestern Sydney. Previously, Mikewas the Director of Operations for theAuckland Ambulance Service, NewZealand.Dave HodgeMBAGeneral Manager,Clinical DevelopmentHES Level 3Dave commenced his ambulanceservice career in the UK in 1979. Hequalified as a paramedic and heldnumerous positions at senior andexecutive levels. He then moved toCharles Sturt University to managetheir pre-hospital care program in2000, and joined Ambulance in 2002.Michael LandsbergenMMgt (Public)General Manager,Corporate ServicesHES Level 3Michael was appointed to the positionof General Manager, CorporateServices on 5 March 2007. Michaelhas 30 years experience in the NSWpublic sector. He has worked inexecutive and senior managementroles in a variety of organisationscovering corporate services,commercial operations, facilitymanagement and organisational reformactivities. Prior to joining Ambulancehe worked with the Government ChiefInformation Office of the Department ofCommerce and with the PowerhouseMuseum.Julie NewmanRN, BHSc (Mgt), ASADirector, Finance and Data ServicesJulie was seconded to Ambulancein July 1999 and appointed to theposition of Director, Finance and DataServices in February 2001. She hasworked in the NSW public healthsystem for almost 40 years andhas gained extensive experience innursing, human resource managementand financial and data management.Gillian O’MalleyBA/LLB (Hons) MTransCrimPrevActing Director,NSW Health Counter Disaster UnitHES Level 2Gillian was appointed as the DeputyDirector on 30 October 2006 andhas over 20 years experience in lawenforcement and security. Her rolesinclude lawyer, and as a police officerand senior administrator in NSWPolice. Ambulance ExecutiveThe Ambulance Service Executive consists of general managers and directorsresponsible for medical, operational and corporate functions covering areas such asclinical governance, patient safety, workforce planning, information systems, finance,data analysis, communications and service planning.Ken PritchardDivisional Manager,Sydney DivisionHES Level 1Ken was appointed DivisionalManager, Sydney Division in January2004. He was previously the SeniorOperations Centre Officer at SydneyOperations Centre and has over 29years experience in Ambulance havingstarted his career as an ambulanceofficer in 1978. Ken has heldoperational management positionsthroughout NSW and managed theSydney Operations Centre duringthe relocation to the present site, aswell as during the transition phase tocomputer aided dispatch.Allan LoudfootMBA, Post Grad Dip (Mgt)Divisional Manager,Northern DivisionHES Level 1Allan was appointed as DivisionalManager, Northern Division inMarch 2002. Allan commencedhis ambulance career in the UnitedKingdom (UK) in 1981 as anambulance officer and became aparamedic in 1987. He held numerouspositions in the UK Ambulance Serviceincluding helicopter paramedic,station officer, Divisional Commander(Northumbria, North Division),Senior Divisional Officer, North EastAmbulance Service and qualityassurance officer. Allan has alsoworked for a number of ambulanceservices both in the UK and MiddleEast on a consultancy basis.Dennis WillisBHSc (Mgt), Dip HS (Pre-hosp Care)Divisional Manager,Western DivisionHES Level 1Dennis was appointed DivisionalManager, Western Division in February2002. He was previously the AreaManager, Illawarra and South Easternand has over 42 years experience inAmbulance, having started his careeras an honorary ambulance officerin 1965. He has held operationalmanagement positions includingRegional Superintendent (CentralWestern Region), Deputy DivisionalSuperintendent (Southern Division) andActing Director, Rural Ambulance.Denis BeavanBA Health ScienceDivisional Manager,Southern DivisionHES Level 1Denis was appointed DivisionalManager, Southern Division in February2002. His previous positions includeSector Manager, South Eastern Sector,Illawarra and South Eastern Area.Denis has over 30 years experiencein Ambulance having started hiscareer as an ambulance officer in1977. He has held several operationalmanagement positions, includingOperations Centre Coordination,Deputy Superintendent, South EasternDistrict and station manager in ruraland remote areas which involves theNSW Snowfield Operations.
