“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and
INTRODUCTION
I
n this booklet, we shall look in-depth at the key
spiritual and physical laws that govern our
health. Needless to say, it will not be possible to
cover the topic of abundant health exhaustively.
However, rest assured that the fundamental truths
that can help you enjoy a vibrant health will be
addressed; and hopefully, it will make you thirsty
for more knowledge and wisdom on the topic.
Why did I select the topic of health for my first
booklet? For three main reasons. Firstly, it is an
area in which few people (including Christians) live
in victory. Secondly, Jesus spent as much time
healing as He did preaching! This shows us how
important the topic of health is for God. Thirdly, if
Christians enjoy abundance in this area, they
1

become terrific “lights.” And the world is in
desperate need of lights right now.
I encourage you, therefore, to claim your
abundance in the area of health with passion,
perseverance and determination. As you do, you
will tear down self-diminishing thought patterns.
You will break chains of ill health. You will find out
the deceptive lies that Satan has made you
believe. Miracles will start to happen in your life.
Open yourself up to the truths that you will
discover in this booklet. Remember that your
health will not improve beyond what you can
imagine. So, dare to conceive the unimaginable,
and be prepared to see your health improve
radically as you implement the steps
recommended.
What makes us sick?
Our time here on earth is fleeting. Although the
number of centenarians keeps growing, few of us
can expect to join this club: less than 1 in 3,000 in
the developed countries nowadays. Yet, in the

PART 1 - INTRODUCTION 3
Bible we find that people used to live much longer,
as Table 1 shows us:
What Table 1 also reveals to us is that life
expectancy decreased sharply over hundreds of

4 HOW TO ENJOY AN ABUNDANT HEALTH
years. Today, life expectancy at birth ranges
between 40 (for the Swazi people) and 83 (for the
Japanese) according to the United Nations list
(2005-2010). Worse still, we often reach old age in
poor health or greatly weakened by sickness
along the way.
The question is: does it have to be this way? No.
What makes us sick then? Many people would like
to find the answer to this question. Researchers
worldwide have tried, but have been mostly
unsuccessful. Medical science is good at treating
the symptoms of our diseases, but is still
incompetent at addressing the underlying root
causes. God, however, told us millennia ago what
makes us sick and ultimately kills us: sin! (see
Genesis 2:16-17)
Before sin entered the world through Adam, death
did not exist at all: no plant, no animal, and no
human died. How can we be certain of this?
Thanks to the Bible. It tells us in Genesis 1:31 that
“God saw all that He had done, and it was very
good.” If death existed already, then we would

PART 1 - INTRODUCTION 5
have to assume that it is a good thing. However,
this is not possible, given that we have been
created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and
we know that God is eternal. Thus, we have also
been created with the capacity to live eternally.
Hence, if death existed at the time that God saw
what He created, then He would not have used
the words “very good” to qualify His work because
death renders us temporal, not everlasting.
Revelation 21:1-4 also lends full support to the
fact that death could not exist in the original
design of God. Indeed, this scripture passage
gives us clear clues as to the world God always
wanted us to live in: a world where there is no
death or mourning or crying or pain!
In conclusion, we can be sure that death did not
exist before sin entered into the world. What sin
did was to disrupt the perfect balance that God
had created in our bodies, minds, and souls.
Instead of constantly regenerating itself, the
human body started to degenerate and age. Adam
did not die the day he sinned. However, by sinning

6 HOW TO ENJOY AN ABUNDANT HEALTH
he – and not God - activated a process that would
ultimately lead, first to his bodily death (thus
disease was born), and then to his spiritual death
(the second death – see Revelations 21:8) if he
did not repent and exercise his faith muscles
before his physical death.
What the Bible also unveils to us is that the sin
committed by Adam also triggered the death
process for the animals. In a way, we can say that
it was a case of collateral damage! Indeed, God
used the blood of animals to cover the sins of our
ancestors, even if it could not remove them
entirely: only the blood of a sinless human being
could do that.
What it meant, however, is that some animals now
had to die. God did that as an act of love… to
delay the physical death process of our ancestors
as much as possible. Why? To give them as much
time as possible to repent and choose life instead
of spiritual death (the second death). After all, it is
the most important decision we all have to make
while we are (physically) alive. If the sins of our

PART 1 - INTRODUCTION 7
ancestors had not been covered by the blood of
animals, then physical death would have
happened much earlier for them and therefore us!
Thereafter, the generations that have succeeded
Adam and Eve have committed increasingly more
sins, with two clear results:
1. Disease has further diversified and multiplied
in the world. This help explains why new
diseases ineluctably kept appearing and
continue to do so today
2. Our bodies, minds, and souls have weakened
considerably
In fact, we can very easily verify this truth today:
people who come from families who practice less
sin usually enjoy better health and live longer than
members of families with a history of sinful
behavior. Think of families where alcoholism and
violence are rampant: their life expectancy is
undoubtedly shorter on average than that of the
members of an upright family. Thus, sin impacts

8 HOW TO ENJOY AN ABUNDANT HEALTH
not only us, but also our descendants. (see
Exodus 20:5)
So, where does this lead us? To a critical finding:
because of the original sin, we have all inherited
from our ancestors some genetic “weaknesses”
and destructive mental, emotional, spiritual and
physical habits that negatively affect our health.
Is physical death avoidable?
Many people believe that medical science will be
able to reverse the aging process and even
prevent the causes of degenerative aging in the
future. However, I can tell you confidently that this
will never happen. Why? Because of the following
fundamental truth: before we go to heaven, we all
need to go through a physical death so that we
can receive, at the time of resurrection, a new
eternal body that has not inherited a sinful nature.
This is a glorious hope, which we don't appreciate
enough simply because we cannot even imagine
how wonderful that will be. Yes, we may live well
past 150 years old in the future, but physical death

PART 1 - INTRODUCTION 9
will remain an inescapable fact for us all. Satan
would like us to believe otherwise, but we should
not let him deceive us: death is certain for our
bodies because they have been infected with sin
(see Romans 6:23).
Does this physical death reality mean that we
cannot enjoy an abundant health while we are on
earth? No. We can take Moses as an example: in
Deuteronomy 34:7, it says: “Moses was 120 years
old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor
his strength gone.” How could this be possible?
To find the answer to this question, we need to
turn to the Bible, the only authoritative book that
contains all the secrets to long-lasting abundant
health:
“My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many
years and bring you prosperity.”
(Proverbs 3:1-2)

10 HOW TO ENJOY AN ABUNDANT HEALTH
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning
of wisdom, and knowledge of the
Holy One is understanding. For
through me your days will be many,
and years will be added to your life.”
(Proverbs 9:10-11)
What is God telling us in these two scriptures?
That by fearing and obeying Him, we can unlock
as much of our God-given longevity potential as
possible. This should not come as a surprise to
us, as sin - which is basically departure from
God’s Word, or disobedience - produces death
(and therefore sickness). Hence, we would
naturally expect the opposite (obedience) to lead
to life and vibrant health.
Another way of saying this is that we cannot be in
poor spiritual health and enjoy great physical
health, as we grow old, since our physical health
is a by-product of our spiritual health. Why?
Because each time we sin and do not repent and
ask for God’s forgiveness, we poison our hearts
and minds; and the more intoxicated our minds

PART 1 - INTRODUCTION 11
and hearts are, the more we create the fertile
breeding ground that viruses and bacteria need to
grow and weaken our immune systems. We are
then increasingly prone to disease and a few
steps closer to physical death.
Of course, you may accept the fact that Moses
lived to a healthy old age of 120, but you may not
believe that it is possible to grow old and be full of
vitality and almost free from disease in the 21 st
century. But, did you know that there are some
people today (e.g. in the Hunza valley – a small
valley located in the mountains of Northwest
Pakistan – and in the Vilcabamba valley – an
elevated valley in Southern Ecuador) who live
past 100 years old in good physical health? And
many are not Christians. So, this gives you an
indication of our potential for longevity and in good
health if we follow the prescriptions and
commands of God.
In Psalm 90:10, God tells us that the wicked (i.e.
the unbelievers) can expect to live at least until
70. What this means is that Christians can live

12 HOW TO ENJOY AN ABUNDANT HEALTH
well beyond this age in good physical and spiritual
health. How? By first restoring their spiritual
health, and then claiming back their physical
health.
Too many people do not change their healthrelated
habits until it is almost too late. Yes, God
can turn sickness into a positive thing. For
example, He can use it to bring us to Jesus and
therefore to save us from the second death (i.e.
being quarantined forever in hell and away from
the presence of God).
However, sickness is not His plan for you and me.
Do not doubt that for even one second. Thus,
although you and I are going to die physically one
day, we do not have to die in a weak state of
health.
Make no mistake: enjoying an abundant health is
not a question of financial means or birth place,
but of knowledge of the spiritual and physical laws
that govern our health and of self-control.

PART 1 - INTRODUCTION 13
Do not seek to live long for the sake of it. Rather,
embrace the spiritual truths that will be revealed to
you in this booklet, and choose to do your best to
enjoy an abundant health, for it is the plan of God
for your life while you are on earth.
Personally, I would prefer to die at 50, but go to
heaven, than to live until 100 and be quarantined
in hell. What about you?
