the symbiosis of technology and design, whether they are switch ranges, movement
detectors, or smoke detectors. A multitude of international design prizes
also demonstrate that solutions for intelligent buildings are not just of practical
value, but also command respect. And your building could also benefi t – just
Mandarin Oriental Prague, Czech Republic
In the heart of Prague, near Karlsbrücke,
the Mandarin-Oriental five-star hotel
was born after a complete renovation
of the “Karmelitska” medieval cloister.
The historical, 500-year-old walls
now accommodate 99 deluxe rooms
and 22 exclusive suites. The historical
building that’s protected by a preservation
order incorporates all state of
the art technology that a luxury hotel
can offer. Among the technology is the
Merten System M with a combination
of classy matt and polar white inserts
with Merten M-Star frames in satin
silver. Every room and suite has dimmable
lighting. The extremely silent
and extendable Merten System M
dimming inserts offer an optimum
solution. There are up to four independent
dimmable light sources per
room providing a pleasant atmosphere
at a historical site.
The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, China
The Ritz Carlton Beijing was designed
by the international architectural firm
Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo. The
luxury hotel is on the hub of the
capital’s dynamically growing finance
district. The Ritz-Carlton is wellknown
for its extraordinarily high
design demands and places great
value on the stylish decor of its
hotels. For this reason, after having
equipped the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in
Berlin, Schneider Electric was once
again chosen to fit all of the hotel
rooms with the multi-award winning
switch ranges Merten M-Plan and
Designed by the architects nps
tchoban voss, a new hotel building
was created for Radisson SAS at the
historical address “Unter den Linden”
in Berlin. Schneider Electric created a
comprehensive KNX solution for the
conference rooms, leisure facilities,
restaurants, presidential suite, and
underground car park. This is used to
control lighting, lightscenes and the
automated partition walls. The switch
switches) were the aluminium
Olympic Stadium in Beijing, China
The Olympic Stadium in Beijing,
designed by Herzog & de Meudon and
called affectionately the „Bird Nest“,
was the centerpiece of the Olympic
Games 2008. The opening and
closing ceremony took place in this
stadium, as well as all athletic competitions
and the fi nal soccer match.
The construction of the Bird Nest
lasted almost fi ve years and Schneider
Electric shared the Olympic moments
in Beijing. We have supplied a large
number of products for the stadium,
such as: System-M Push-buttons,
ARGUS presence detectors and
lighting control with KNX.
