Looping is when teachers work with the same group of students for two years instead ofone. For instance, a kindergarten class beginning this year will have the same teacher when those studentsenter 1st grade in 2013-14. Upon the conclusion of that year, the teacher would begin teaching a newkindergarten class. All students up to 5th grade will loop. The advantages of looping include teachersdeveloping a greater knowledge of their students’ strengths and weaknesses, a reduction in students’ anxietyabout a new school year, and stronger bonds between teachers and students, as well as between teachers andparents.Thomas edison elementaryFundraiser features Thomas Edison students’ works of artThomas Edison Elementary students recently completed an Art to Remember fundraiser. Thefundraiser gave parents and families the chance to order custom-made items featuring artwork bytheir children. Products included lunch bags, flower pots, bookmarks, aprons, calendars, ceramic tilesand much more.
