FIRE IN OUR HEARTSCITY ON A HILLSoon we jumped out at New Creation Hall. ‘This is the firstbig house the Lord gave us,’ I said proudly as we steppedinside. JESUS CHRIST IS LORD! The poster in the hallwaytold you this was no ordinary mansion. The Hall was lookingquite respectable now, and Kelly’s trenches were a nostalgicmemory. On the walls there were paintings and embroideriesquoting hymns or Scriptures. We admired one of the pictures,which showed a group of brothers relaxing together.‘Do you get much time to do that?’ asked Henk.‘A bit,’ said Pete. ‘We all work, either in the community oroutside, but the evening meal is important for fellowship. Theevenings vary: Monday is generally free, unless you’re somekind of leader. Tuesday is our covenant Agape meal. OnWednesdays the servant groups zoom all over the Midlandsmeeting people, and on Thursdays we relax. Some people goevangelising on Friday night, often very late.‘What about weekends?’ asked Henk.‘Busy! Most of us usually work around the house on Saturdaymorning or sometimes at the farm. The afternoon is normallyrelaxed and we often take visitors round the community.In the evening we either have full church meetings orhouse groups. On Sunday we have the main meeting of worshipin which we share the bread and wine and Noel givessome teaching.
