This lunette of theMadonna and Child, accompanied by twovivid, w<strong>in</strong>ged angels, is thought to havebeen part of a multi-paneled polyptych <strong>in</strong>the church of Sant’Eufemia, where it nowsurmounts the only other rema<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g panel,depict<strong>in</strong>g Sa<strong>in</strong>t Roch. Both pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>gs wereCaricature draw<strong>in</strong>gs by theeighteenth-century artist AntonMaria Zanetti were recentlystudied and catalogued at theGiorgio C<strong>in</strong>i Foundation <strong>in</strong>memory of <strong>Save</strong> <strong>Venice</strong> Boardmember and esteemed art historianRoger Rearick (1930–2004). The areas oflost gold were <strong>in</strong>stead retouched with a neutraltone to blend visually with the portionsof the background still <strong>in</strong>tact.Fondazione Giorgio C<strong>in</strong>iconta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g 350 caricatures ofVenetian personalities, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>gthe male soprano Far<strong>in</strong>elliand artists Sebastiano Ricci andRosalba Carriera. Heis a graduate of Harvard’s ART Institute with degrees fromthe University of California and Northwestern. Manfredand his partner, Peter Iacono, who serves as President &Manag<strong>in</strong>g Director of ITV Worldwide, are honored to collaboratewith <strong>Save</strong> <strong>Venice</strong>.Mary Kathryn Navab, an ardent supporter of the arts, humanities,and diverse charitable organizations, shares with theBoard a passion for the preservation of this magical city. Agraduate of Southern Methodist University <strong>in</strong> advertis<strong>in</strong>gand market<strong>in</strong>g, with a m<strong>in</strong>or <strong>in</strong> bus<strong>in</strong>ess and art history,Mary Kathryn worked for twelve years as a Senior FirstV.P. for Solomon Smith Barney, and for another six years<strong>in</strong> the same position at Prudential Securities.
