World Refugee Day Festival Saturday, June 19th Granite High

Since 1983, over 25,000 refugees have resettled in Utah, contributing to the diverse community in excess of 50 languages, ethnicities, and nationalities, and a priceless amount of culture, traditions, and diversity. The Utah World Refugee Day Education Week and Festival is an opportunity of honoring the courage, resilience, and strength of people who were once refugees and now call Utah their home. It is our mission, through the celebration of dance, music, arts, food, discussions, and film that we acknowledge and empower the many refugee communities in our state. We also strive to educate the general community about the hardships refugees faced in their countries and the refugee camps, and the hardships refugees currently face through the resettlement process into their new life in the United States.
