ZYP BORON NITRIDE LUBRICOAT,ZYP BORON NITRIDE LUBRICOAT-BLUEEXCELLENT PROTECTION FROM MOLTEN ALUMINIUM,MAGNESIUM, ZINC AND THEIR DROSSESWARNING: Never contact wet coating withmolten metal.ZYP Boron Nitride Lubricoat ® and Lubricoat-Blue ® are excellent general-usecoatings that provide true Teflon ® -like non-wetting behaviour for moltennonferrous metals. Metals and their drosses will not react, stick, or adhereto the coated surface with the use of these all-purpose coatings.Boron Nitride Lubricoat can be used in the glass industry as a non-reactiveand non-stick coating compatible with glass chemistries, slags and fluxes. As a lubricant/non-stick agent, Boron Nitride Lubricoat is ideal for hotpressingand glass forming.LUBRICOATLubricoat comes as a standard white coating which can blend in with thenormal colour of ceramic substrates.LUBRICOAT-BLUELubricoat-Blue is available for better visibility. The blue colour serves as avisual aid during the application process, assisting operators and supervisorsto visually see where the coating has been applied by differentiating theblue colour from the white refractory substrate. It also serves as a wearindicator identifying when to recoat.USE INSTRUCTIONSApplication, either by dipping, air-spraying or brushing, can be used toobtain an optimal thickness of 50–100 microns. Spraying is typically themost accurate method for consistent thickness. The coating can be usedfull strength or diluted with water to a maximum of two parts water to onepart coating. If diluting, the use of distilled or purified water is preferable.1. Clean surfaces to be coated of oils, dirt, scale, etc.2. Mix thoroughly before use and occasionally during application to ensureconsistent performance.3. For spraying or brushing, apply multiple thin coats for best performance. If dipping, drain excess coating to achieve optimal thickness.4. Dry thoroughly before placing into service. Never contact wet coatingwith molten metal.5. Lightly polishing or buffing of the dry coating with a clean cloth willaid in filling and smoothing the refractory pores and removal of excesscoating.6. Clean tools with water.BENEFITS• Totally non-wetted by molten aluminium, magnesium, zinc and their drosses• Acts like Teflon to molten metal• Protects ceramics, metals and graphite• Reduces maintenance and extendsrefractory life• Applies like house paint• Safe, water-based, no volatile organiccompounds• Stops and prevents corundum and drossgrowth• Minimizes rework and rebuilding ofrefractories• Contains no added fillers• Braze stop-off and weld spatter releaseAPPLICATIONS• Launders• Autopour ladles• Tubes• Funnels and spouts• Filter bowls and boxes• Caster tips• Dross press heads• Tundishes and risers• Glass formingSTORAGE• Store in original container• Keep container closed to avoid liquidevaporation/loss• Keep from freezingHEALTH AND SAFETYPrior to use, refer to the product safety datasheet for proper handling and required personalprotective equipment.
