Rules and General Information The Miss Owa Chito Pageant will be held in Beaver’s Bend State Park, Group Camp #1, in conjunction with the annual Kiamichi Owa-Chito Festival of the Forest on Friday, June 15 th . IMPORTANT: You will need a “parking pass” to be able to drive to Group Camp #1. The pass can be purchased at the Chambers of Commerce in Broken Bow or Idabel. Cost is $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the gate. Passes are limited and sold on a first come basis. Free parking is available, but you must park in General Parking and ride the shuttle bus. The bus stops at the entrance to the Group Camp area. In case of inclement weather, tune to KKBI 106.1 or Q102 for the official report on any changes. Contestants will be judged on beauty, modeling ability, choice of garment, poise, facial expression and eye contact. There are no set rules on guidelines given to judges for selection. The winners are chosen based upon the three judges’ opinions. It is their opinions only. Dresses chosen for the Miss Owa-Chito Division should be short formals i.e., after five or prom dress. NO LONG FORMALS FOR ANY DIVISION. Dresses for the LITTLE MISS DIVISION, PETITE MISS and BABY MISS DIVISION are usually more of a “pageant dress”. Junior Miss Owa Chito and Miss Owa Chito contestants will be judged prior to the pageant in a personal interview with the judges. Each interview will last approximately 5 minutes. Contestants may wear a dress or pant suit for the interview, but it is not required to have different attire for the interview portion of the pageant. The decision is left up to the individual. This interview process will give the judges the opportunity to see the contestant’s personality, poise, intelligence and confidence. Remember: the first impression ~ is a lasting impression. See attached sheet for interview schedule. You may enter as many photogenic pictures as you wish, but each additional entry is an additional $10.00 entry fee. Photos should be 8”x10” – Color or Black and White. Photo only – NO FRAMES! To protect your photos, please place them in a clear, protective covering. INCLUDE THE CONTESTANT NAME, AGE, AND DIVISION ON THE BACK OF THE PHOTO. ALL PICTURES ARE DUE AT THE REHEARSAL – THURSDAY JUNE 14TH - NO PHOTOS ACCEPTED THE DAY OF THE PAGEANT! Final entry deadline is Wednesday, June 13th - sorry NO EXCEPTIONS and NO REFUNDS after this date. Crowned winners of each age division will be introduced on the main stage on Saturday night before the main entertainment begins. This is very important! This begins your duties as the new Miss Owa-Chito queens. All crown winners need to report to the Ampitheatre Main Stage at 5:45 pm on Saturday, June 16 th . Wear your pageant dress, crown and banner. All pageant winners are encouraged to ride in various parades throughout the year, promoting your title, and the Miss Owa-Chito Pageant. ~ see attached sheet for pageant schedule ~
