The meetingrequested ong>theong> Secretariat to check with our delegates ong>theong> reason for ong>theong>ir attendance – ong>theong> topic ong>ofong> ong>theong> guest speaker orif a Thursday is more convenient than Wednesday?The meeting expressed ong>theong>ir appreciation to PATA HQ for contacting Mr. Burt Woolf, Principal, Center for Qualityong>ofong> Life (C4QL), as our guest speaker.P.R. ong>Committeeong>In ong>theong> absence ong>ofong> Ken Scott, Chairman, P.R. ong>Committeeong>, Joan reported that he is preparing ong>theong> last e-Newsletter for2008 so everyone was requested to send ong>theong>ir product information.The Secretariat will send to Ken ong>theong> pictures ong>ofong> today’s luncheon meeting plus a summary on ong>theong> presentation on“Integrative Travel: A New for Tourism Development”.The circular on ong>theong> Joint PATA/SKAL Xmas Luncheon will be published in ong>theong> e-Newsletter.


Programme ong>Committeeong> –3Joint PATA/SKAL Xmas Luncheon, December 9 th , 2008The following venues were suggested by ong>theong> meeting –- Vincent suggested we ong>ofong>fer our members a different venue – Cabbages and Condoms owned by Meechai’sorganisation which runs schools for needy children.- The meeting discussed using ong>theong> Chao Phaya Hotel as Andrew Wood will ong>ofong>fer us a very good luncheon programmeand this was approved. The Secretariat will check out ong>theong> BTS service to this hotel and to inform our members.Industry Development ong>Committeeong> –Danai Wansom, Chairman, Industry Development ong>Committeeong> suggested that we should approach Airline Managersonce again to join PATA Thailand Chapter.Jackie Tisapramotekul, PATA HQ suggested that we should organise a survey to our members and ong>theong> localSecretariat will liaise with her on this.Khun Chalongchai Hiranyalekha, THAI suggested that we should constantly convey to our members ong>theong> benefits ong>ofong>ong>theong>ir membership in ong>theong> PATA Thailand Chapter.Jackie Tisapramotekul, PATA HQ, reported to ong>theong> meeting that this matter was discussed at ong>theong> PATA Board ong>Meetingong>in India that ong>theong>y are trying to find out from ong>theong> members how ong>theong>y benefit from ong>theong>ir membership.Heiko suggested that one obvious value ong>ofong> PATA membership is ong>theong> attendance at our quarterly luncheon meetingsand seminars ong>ofong> top level executives from ong>theong> travel industry. Therefore, he agreed with Luzi Matzig that we mustalways have a good and interested guest speaker at every Quarterly Luncheon ong>Meetingong>.Green Projects ong>Committeeong> -An Award for Environment Programmes – this suggestion was accepted by ong>theong> meeting for furong>theong>r consideration.Joan informed ong>theong> meeting that we have already circulated ong>theong> SKAL Green Tips to our members with a request ong>theong>ysend us additional tips for PATA Thailand Chapter to prepare our own booklet but so far we have not received anysuggestions. Joan suggested that we could try to encourage our members to participate in this programme by selectedong>theong> best tips and to give our members a free lunch as well as acknowledgement in our e-Newsletters.3. Any Oong>theong>r BusinessSituation Update from TAT & THAI –Khun Chalongchai Hiranyalekha, THAI, informed ong>theong> meeting that THAI and TAT organised a very successful Be-My-Guest programme for over 1,000 leading travel agents from throughout ong>theong> world as part ong>ofong> ong>theong> Visit AmazingThailand 2009 campaign.This programme was to show ong>theong> travel industry that ong>theong> present political situation is now back to normal so ong>theong>y canstart to bring ong>theong>ir clients back to Thailand.Khun Jamlong Ratanaphan, TAT, also gave ong>theong> meeting a report on ong>theong> above programme which was a great success.There being no furong>theong>r business ong>theong> meeting adjourned at 1140 hrs.
