Remembering Hawk...BISA BISS Ch. Shadomountin Sparrow Hawk ROMHawkWas the Top ProducingStud dog for YTCA in 1982siring 9 champions and in 1983he sired 11 champions.Hawk was sterile by six years ofage, yet he produced over 25champion get.Hawk and sister “Penny,” BISS and Multi Group Winner Ch. ShadomountinLucky Penny, made history in 1980 at the Westminster KC Show by goingBest of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed. This had neverhappened in Yorkshire Terriers. He again had the distinction of representingthe Yorkshire Terrier in the 1982 Group at Westminster KC.This great little dog was truly small compared to what is now being shown,and probably could not do the winning today that he did then. He weighedonly four pounds.Hawk left us with a grand legacy, BISA BISS Ch. Shadomountin Steppin UpROM, a NYC National Specialty Best of Breed winner. He was the foundationsire for Janet Jackson’s lovely “Steppin Up” Yorkshire Terriers. Mary Trimble ofThimbletip’s Yorkshire Terriers continued the tradition with her great littlefoundation sire, Ch.
