Humes CMPCorrugated Metal PipeBuildon ourexpertise

Features• Humes CMP is a helically wound, lock seamedcorrugated metal pipe.• Humes CMP is available in pipe diameters up to 5.1m.• Humes CMP is manufactured utilising a fully mobile plant— pipe can be manufactured on site if required.• Humes CMP is manufactured from G250 steel,Z600 galvanised zinc, supplied by Bluescope Steel.• Humes CMP is manufactured in 2 state of the art,TR and TRS profiles (see below).• Humes CMP is designed in accordance withAS1761-1985 and AS1762-1984 Helically locked seamedcorrugated steel pipe.• Humes CMP is included in the draft revision ofAS/NZS2041.5 Buried corrugated metal structures Part 5:Helically formed ribbed pipes.HRDWRTR ProfileRtBenefits• Large diameters and long lengthsmanufactured economically on siteminimising ever rising costs due tofreight.• Large diameter pipes eliminate the highinstallation cost of multiplate structures.• On-site manufacture accommodatesorder variations and additions.• Humes’ unique profiles optimise loadbearing capacity.• Where pipes are to be joined, dedicatedcoupling bands are supplied providing asecure fit.• Humes’ internal engineering designteam ensure customer’s requirementsare met.• Large diameter culverts can be laid inlive condition (running streams etc).• On site manufacture frees up busy haulroads on mines sites.DW1W2H R R R RtTRS ProfileApplications• Culverts under roads and rail• Conveyor and access tunnels• Detention tanks for stormwater• Water tanks (domestic and rural)• Conduits for air flow• Architectural stacks• Form work• Half-pipe drains and flumes

DesignThe adjacent graph compares the section propertiesof Humes CMP TR and TRS profiles against traditionalcorrugated sinusoidal profiles. These graphs highlightthe high-load bearing capacity of Humes CMP,enabling maximum fill depths and/or installed factorof-safety.The effects of corrosion and/or abrasionshould be assessed with respect to product life for allcorrugated metal pipe installations. For installationswhere soils are of low resistivity, high salinity, or ofhigh or low pH, specialist opinion should be sought.Humes CMP is fully supported by Humes’ in-houseengineering design team (TDS — Technical DesignServices).Second Moment of Area (mm 4 /mm)6004002000TRTRS75 x 25 Corrugated125 x 25 Corrugated68 x 18 Corrugated1 2 3 4 5 6Cross Sectional Area (mm 2 /mm)InstallationHumes CMP is a flexible pipe and therefore its installed structural adequacy is reliant on soil structure interaction.The Humes CMP technical manual details the installation procedure and includes recommendations to ensure aneffective installation.Max.cover (m) for TR profile under road or rail embankmentsNominal InternalDiameter (mm)Wall Thickness (mm)1.6 2.0 2.5 3.0300 ++ ++ x x375 ++ ++ x x450 ++ ++ x x600 ++ ++ ++ x750 40.5 ++ ++ x900 34.0 47.5 ++ x1050 29.0 40.5 ++ x1200 25.5 35.5 45.0 ++1350 22.5 31.5 40.0 49.01500 20.5 28.5 36.0 44.51650 18.5 26.0 33.0 40.01800 16.5 23.5 30.0 37.01950 * 20.5 27.0 34.02100 * 18.5 24.0 30.02250 * 16.5 21.5 27.02400 * * 19.0 24.52550 * * 17.0 22.02700 * * * 19.52850 * * * 17.03000 * * * 15.5Notes:1. ManufactureThe cost of freight is a significantcomponent in the total installed cost of anypipeline system. The advantage of largediameter Humes CMP is that it is capableof being produced in long lengths of lowmass, relative to other pipeline products.These characteristics oppose the highcost penalties for freighting this product.Humes has a unique quick turn-around,fully mobile and self-contained plant thatcan produce Humes CMP at the actual jobsite. This option provides the purchaserwith the maximum savings on transport,handling and installation costs.On-site manufacture of Humes CMPSales: 1300 361 601 Email: info@humes.com.au We bsite: www .humes.com.auHEAD OFFICE18 Little Cribb StMilton 4064 QL DPh: (07) 3364 2800Fax: (07) 3364 2963QUEENSLANDTownsvillePh: (07) 4758 6000Fax: (07) 4758 6001Sunshine CoastPh: (07) 5472 9700Fax: (07) 5472 9711Brisbane/Gold CoastPh: (07) 3866 7100Fax: (07) 3866 7101BundabergPh: (07) 4152 2644Fax: (07) 4152 5847RockhamptonPh: (07) 4924 7900Fax: (07) 4924 7901ToowoombaPh: (07) 4694 1420Fax: (07) 4634 3874NEW SOUTHWALESGrafto nPh: (02) 6644 7666Fax: (02) 6644 7313KempseyPh: (02) 6562 6755Fax: (02) 6562 4235SydneyPh: (02) 9832 5555Fax: (02) 9625 5200TamworthPh: (02) 6765 7766Fax: (02) 6765 2683LismorePh: (02) 6621 3684Fax: (02) 6622 1342Newcastl ePh: (02) 4966 4669Fax: (02) 4966 4914CanberraPh: (02) 6285 5309Fax: (02) 6285 5334VICTORIAMelbourn ePh: (03) 9360 3888Fax: (03) 9360 3887Echuc aPh: (03) 5480 237 1Fax: (03) 5482 3090TASMANIAInvermayPh: (03) 6335 630 0Fax: (03) 6335 633 0SOUTHAUSTRALIAAdelaidePh: (08) 8168 4544Fax: (08) 8168 454 9WESTERNAUSTRALIAPerth/WelshpoolPh: (08) 9351 6999Fax: (08) 9351 697 7Perth/GnangaraPh: (08) 9302 8000Fax: (08) 9309 1625NORTHERNTERRITORYDarwinPh: (08) 8984 1600Fax: (08) 8984 1614PS-CMP08 © Copyright Humes – April 2008
